Senate Democrats on Monday presented President Trump with their list of conditions for a denuclearization deal with North Korea, saying they would only support lifting sanctions on Pyongyang in exchange for complete dismantling of the nuclear program.
They also want a deal to put checks on North Koreas chemical and biological weapons.
The senators laid out a list of five demands in a letter to Mr. Trump, who is preparing for a June 12 summit with North Korea leader Kim Jong-un.
Sen. Charles E. Schumer, who signed the letter with six other Senate Democrats, told reporters that the Democrats didnt want America saddled with a bad deal.
The New York Democrat warned against Mr. Trump accepting a bad deal just because he wanted a deal.
The president needs to be able to walk away from the table if there isnt a good deal to be had, Mr. Schumer said. He also needs to be willing to take the time to construct a good deal.
Democrats staunchly opposed Mr. Trumps moves with North Korea from the start, saying his tough rhetoric was tempting nuclear war and then that agreeing to a face-to-face meeting was empowering Mr. Kim.
The letter spelled out five conditions:

Their play is simple, RESIST!
Chuck, “Dumb ass” much?
Holding Trump to standards is so nonsensical.
Like Obama did in Iran...
And my wasnt Obama firm with Kim during his eight years.
Only by the grace of God are there no photos of Obama bowing to Kim.
LMAO!
What a bunch of clowns these folks are.
Recall too, he's related to Amy Schumer, the ersatz comedianne. So he knows how to deliver a good laugh.
Well said!
Thank the Lord 0bama and “Dumb ass” didn’t send Kim billions also.
Oh, that’s where Trump will flub up. I get it.
He won’t sent pallets of cash.
LOL
To be honest, if Kim does come through, I think a number of nations should try to help the North. It’s people have had it very tough.
If the two nations join, the South will likely need some help absorbing the people from the North. I wonder what their education level is.
So first he was too tough, now he’s not tough enough? This letter is kabuki. Trump is doing what no one else has been able to do, and now they are trying to save face for political purposes.
Exactly.
Yep...To say the average Nork has had it tough is an understatement.
For the most part if you aren’t a member of the ruling class or in the military you’re nothing but a slave scratching to survive.
Even the lives of the ruling class and the military hang by a thread depending on the whim of dear leader.
They’ll need help but we’ll see some real actions on their part before the money start flowing, I would hope.
Or the one Denis Rodman made. Oh yeah, they sent that screwball over there.
rwood
Hope that holds. Good luck.
where does he get off demanding anything. Executive branch does the deal and then gives it to congress.
Bump!
Thank you.
Wouldn’t you know, the wind has kicked up.
That sucks. Does it blow towards or away from town?
It changes direction but mostly blows toward the east so that keeps it away from Durango. Between town and the fire there is a valley so when the wind settles down, it will drift down toward town. It settles in like fog in the early mornings.
Thanks. We are looking at Montrose for a place to move. COPD might make me get down off this mountain (almost 10K feet here). Looks like decent home prices and climate there. Any suggestions about that side of the divide?
I think you would make a good choice with Montrose. Very conservative area.
FYI, the hospital doesn’t have a good reputation but most people go up to Grand Junction or down to Durango for care, anyway.
Yes, from what I understand, the home prices are decent. The climate is really good. Pretty mild winters.
There are a lot of smaller towns in the area you could check out. Good luck and best wishes.
PS: You probably know to avoid Durango. But we need all the good conservatives we can get.
No, I didn't.
