Iowa State University student files lawsuit against Iowa’s voter ID law

A new lawsuit alleges that Iowa’s new voter ID law violates the state constitution and will make it more difficult for some residents to vote.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday by the League of United Latin American Citizens of Iowa and Iowa State University student Taylor Blair, is the first major legal challenge to the law since it was passed last year, according to the Associated Press.

The law requires that election officials ask voters for a form of identification starting this year, including during Iowa’s primary elections on June 5. This year, those without ID can sign an oath verifying their identity and still vote.

Starting in 2019, voters will be required to have an acceptable form of ID to cast a ballot. Otherwise, they will cast a provisional ballot that will only be counted if they return later with identification.

What are the "some residents" status.

Being a resident is not necessarily being a qualified voter.

"When he did get a card, he forgot to bring it to vote last April. Blair cast a ballot after he signed a document verifying his identity, but said that the overall experience made it more difficult to vote."

Not only a snowflake with hurt feelings but also a STUPID snowflake.

If filed in a Federal District Court, Taylor Blair would not have been allowed past the front door of the U. S. Courthouse without showing photo ID.

It’s movement that would make asking or checking ID like saying N-word

Blair, the student in the lawsuit, claims in the filing that he was unable to initially get a new non-photo voter card because of a mix-up with his voter registration information, according to the AP.

When he did get a card, he forgot to bring it to vote last April.

So, he is a dummy as well?

He must think that minorities are too lazy/stupid to have or get an ID.

Getting rid of the ill-conceived 17th Amendment will put a major dent into reducing voting fraud imo.

And until the states wise up and repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, as evidenced by concerns about the integrity of the outcome of Alabama's and Pennsylvania's special elections for example, patriot candidates need to win elections by a large enough margin to compensate for the following concerns.

The 16th Amendment can disappear too.

He thinks voter fraud is too hard when ID’s are required.

We need to get rid of the 26th Amendment. If they’re not old enough to drink, they shouldn’t be old enough to vote.

How does he have standing. As an Iowa State student, he certainly has an ID, therefore he cannot have been inconvenienced except for his negligence to bring his ID card to the polling place.

Partner, LULAC has lost a lot of folks that are Hispanic and they are losing them since they have found out that LULAC is one Liberal Syrup Hole. LULAC just does not know that right now.

I think everybody knows that we need Judges confirmed by the Senate to take on the liberals by applying correctly the Constitution of the U.S. This is all we are asking on this voting withoug a valid photo license photo.

The liberals in LULAC just want non-citizens to vote period.

I have to say "Syrup" since my grandson always reminds to say "Syrup" instead of the other word. I still slip and say the "S" word.
