Contrast with Obama, who tacitly organized, approved of and permitted the burning of Ferguson and other cities to display his political vision for America.
The NFL is a business not a social justice rally for community organizers. If people want to waste their time and money watching exceptionally well compensated participants “play” a game they can spend it on the NFL, NBA or the WWE. Your call which is more honest.
If I were African-American I would really resent the media and Kap’s SJW allies for portraying blacks as not respectful of the flag and national anthem. Who gave them the right to smear an entire community?
Of course, POTUS meant that he wasn’t “flexible” in showing support for the National Anthem, but he didn’t dictate what the NFL should or should not do. Had he done that, the outcome would have been very different, IMHO.
This article is meant to suggest that POTUS somehow threatened the NFL and/or owners. My take on it is that the NFL has fallen on its own sword, and for the most part, POTUS had nothing to do with it. It continues to amaze me that liberal organizations seem to think that the rest of us cannot think or act on our own, and that we are only influenced by POTUS. This thinking is part of the superiority complex of liberals. Just my two cents.
They don't get a do over.
They don't replay the Super Bowl after the game is over. The losing team doesn't get to try a different play after the one they tried fell flat.
It's as if the Seahawks got to go back on the field after losing Super Bowl 49, and decide, this time we're going to give the ball to Marshawn on the goal line.
Sorry, NFL. You had your chance to defend the best of America, and you passed. There is no second chance.
Gee Jerry you are such a clever fella! Did you figure that out all by yourself?
ya gotta love the biased nonsense this fool author wrote blaming the negative fan reaction regarding the kneelers on Trump.
Trump merely got out in front of the issue when he realized millions of his supporters were really pissed off about the kneelers and provided a rallying point for all of us who were P.O.ed at the kneelers so we would know that we weren’t alone in our anger.
It was the millions of we fleeing fans that ultimately determined the issue. If we fans hadn’t given a hoot, then it wouldn’t have mattered one whit what Trump said about the issue. As it was, we fans were the gasoline and Trump merely lit the match ...
The NFL ruling about standing while the National Anthem is played has only moved the emphasis from kneeling on the field to those trooping out onto the field afterwards, with some kind of body language to reveal a go-to-hell attitude.
Or in other words, the same obnoxious controversy will continue, and lots of us will still not watch the games.
If ANYONE believes this, then they ought to get busy welcoming their new overlords.
Can you see Donald J Trump actually saying what Jerry Jones said that he said?
“It’s a big issue to me.”
The fans are paying the salaries, and the owners are paying the players. If the players don’t play, there’s no product. If the fans don’t watch, there’s no players. Players are too stupid to police this themselves. Owners don’t have the leadership ability to handle this.
So they are going to through 45 under the bus.
Cowards. They deserve to be poor, and I’m going to help them out by not watching pro football. I don’t watch NBA because those spoiled idiots couldn’t figure out how to split $2B back when they struck.
Donald Trump supports America unlike the NFL or the past president. I guess the NFL owners are surprised.
Trump was a USFL team owner and has not forgotten the NFL conspiring to put them out of business.
