The first snippets of testimony have emerged from the depositions taken in the Colin Kaepernick collusion grievance. And its becoming even more obvious that the NFL changed its anthem policy at the direct behest of the President.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, while testifying in the Kaepernick collusion grievance, shared the details of a phone call with the President.
This is a very winning, strong issue for me, the President told Jones, according to Andrew Beaton of the Wall Street Journal. Tell everybody, you cant win this one. This one lifts me.
The President was right. There was no way to win. Even by giving in.
Per Beaton, the NFL declined comment on the matter, citing the confidentiality that applies to the grievance proceedings. A White House official did not dispute the testimony.
The majority of the American people agree with the president, love our country, love our flag and believe it should be respected, the White House official told Beaton.

Contrast with Obama, who tacitly organized, approved of and permitted the burning of Ferguson and other cities to display his political vision for America.
This will also buy another week of free rent for Trump in the media / leftists’ heads.
The NFL is a business not a social justice rally for community organizers. If people want to waste their time and money watching exceptionally well compensated participants “play” a game they can spend it on the NFL, NBA or the WWE. Your call which is more honest.

Neither should ABC be a social justice rally for community organizers, but it looks like that's what it is.
Between this and canceling Roseanne, ABC has perhaps 3 years left.
America has a reputation as a “land of the protest.” A certain amount of spitballs is tolerated even at sacred cows.
I believe Trump has mainstreamed putting the shoe on the other foot. Kaepernick isn’t being nuanced — and neither is Donald. I don’t think Donald can keep this up forever of course, and I don’t even think we want to. Space has to be carved out for the Holy Spirit to teach a larger lesson. You don’t throw babies out with bathwater, no matter how bad the bathwater.
When major media went from covering protests to BEING protests, it actually did the protests no favor.
The Laff channel also yanked Roseanne yesterday.
If I were African-American I would really resent the media and Kap’s SJW allies for portraying blacks as not respectful of the flag and national anthem. Who gave them the right to smear an entire community?
Sure. The right to petition the government for a redress of grievances is in the first amendment, but this comes at the price of peaceable assembly.
It wasn't until recently that the expectation was that all protests had to end the protester's way without compromise. It may be that the protesters increasingly turned to violence to make it be this way. The NFL protests have not been violent, but they sure picked a very big sacred cow to poke. I believe that there is a difference between making a protest and usurping a time-honored tradition for one's own protest moment when any other time would suffice.
To me, this is a case where protest became theft, or stolen honor. The NFL fans are responding by peaceably refusing to assemble.

Let us hope.
Of course, POTUS meant that he wasn’t “flexible” in showing support for the National Anthem, but he didn’t dictate what the NFL should or should not do. Had he done that, the outcome would have been very different, IMHO.
This article is meant to suggest that POTUS somehow threatened the NFL and/or owners. My take on it is that the NFL has fallen on its own sword, and for the most part, POTUS had nothing to do with it. It continues to amaze me that liberal organizations seem to think that the rest of us cannot think or act on our own, and that we are only influenced by POTUS. This thinking is part of the superiority complex of liberals. Just my two cents.
Perfect
You forgot MLB, they are part of the same kettle of “fish!”
They don't get a do over.
They don't replay the Super Bowl after the game is over. The losing team doesn't get to try a different play after the one they tried fell flat.
It's as if the Seahawks got to go back on the field after losing Super Bowl 49, and decide, this time we're going to give the ball to Marshawn on the goal line.
Sorry, NFL. You had your chance to defend the best of America, and you passed. There is no second chance.
Wasnt he making campaign stops around that time, I seem to remember him doing some radio show where he talked about my people (blacks, he meant this time. Usually, he meant muslims.) I wish I could remember just what he said, because I wouldnt be surprised if he gave the looters and vandals a tacit green light.
