Turkeys Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) has ruled that a Kurdish candidate for the Turkish presidency cannot phone in to a talk programme from jail, opposition newspaper Cumhuriyet said .
Selahattin Demirtaş was planning to use his weekly right to a 10-minute phone call to call in to Fox TV and take part in its election programme Leaders on Fox.
However, his request was rejected on the basis that this was an internal Justice Ministry decision the YSK could not interfere with, even if it might affect the ongoing election.
Demirtaş has been in pretrial detention since November 2016, and if convicted, he could face a 142-year prison sentence.

No, Tommy Robinson was defending freedom of speech and exposure of public corruption.
Erdogan the Islamist is a Fascist Dictator enemy of all free men and nations. He deserves far worse treatment than he has thus far received. There has never ever, since the beginning of the Ottoman Empire been freedom of speech or freedom of almost anything. Turkey under Erdogan is the Great Evil that gave the world the Armenian Genocide.
This will not end well for Turkey. Or the citizens of Turkey.

I wasn't talking about Erdogan in my comment, I was talking about the imprisoned Kurd candidate Selahattin Demirtaş.
