Billionaire Steyer Compares His Impeachment Crusade to Civil Rights Movement
newsbusters.org ^ | 5/29/2018 | Julia A. Seymour

Bringing up his impeachment efforts, Steyer said, “Impeaching the president of the United States is upsetting the status quo. Anytime in American history that there has been an attempt to upset the status quo, there have been people within the status quo — within the establishment — saying, ‘It may be true, it may be something we should deal with, it may be important, but not now.’”

“So, if you look at the civil rights movement, the pushback was not, ‘You’re not telling the truth,’ the pushback was, ‘We’re dealing with it in time. You know, stand down so we can deal with it in time,’” Steyer added. He argued that behavior was “normalizing” the situation.

Early in the podcast, Dovere pointed out that Steyer became a “major donor, one of the biggest,” prompting the billionaire to downplay his massive political spending.

“I think that’s always so misleading when people say that. Because I think it implies that I’m writing checks to campaigns, and actually that’s not true,” Steyer claimed. “Actually, what we’re doing is — I’ve set up. I’ve started an organization that does a lot of grassroots organizing. So that any money that we spend is really spent on hiring, training, organizing people on the ground to speak to other American citizens.”

While the bulk of Steyer’s political spending has been run through his NextGen Climate (later rebranded to NextGen America) PAC, it’s also dishonest for Steyer to claim he was not writing checks to campaigns. Open Secrets listed almost $60,000 in direct donations to Democrats ($58,693) from Steyer between 2006 to 2018, including donations to Hillary Clinton and Rep. Maxine Waters. It also listed a $250,000 donation to the Latino Victory PAC in 2016.

Uh, using that mind set isn't "appropriation"? With this kind of 'nutbaggery' going on, he could be a contender for the vp slot with delusional hildabeast. Wack-O-frickin' doodle. But at least his wife is back from her hard work for 6 years on the board at 'havahd' to help him out.

THIS A-HOLE is desperately trying to garner President Trump's attention.

He soooo wants POTUS to cite him by name.

I hope and pray POTUS continues to ignore him!

Right church wrong pew. Trump is King for another age. Trump is leading a crusade for the freedom of the people from the tyranny of elites, communists, and globalists.

Thank God he’s a moron! He actually spends more money on Leftist claptrap than George Soros, but the dead Soros will leave behind dozens of Leftist organizations that we will be fighting for a couple generation. Steyer will be forgotten after the 2020 election cycle.

Steyer is Captain Ahab, and Trump is the Great White Whale that Ahab can never catch (though he has a permanent lease inside Steyer’s mind).

You really have to wonder what goes through the mind of someone who has benefited SOOOO greatly from what this country has to offer, when that person is doing their level best to destroy every single factor that made him super-wealthy in the first place. He is definitely mentally unbalanced.

Hitler and Himmler compared their genocide of the Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals and Slavs to a religious crusade.

It’s the farthest thing from civil rights possible.

It is a shallow, juvenile cult of anti-personality that tries to harness the moral superiority needs of the left. It relies upon the same old tired bumperstickerisms of Nancy Pelosi “tax cuts for the rich, we stand for the little guy”.

A guy like Steyer has as much in common with “the little guy” as I have with Venusians. A guy like 0bama came up with tantrum after tantrum and scolding after scolding designed to bludgeon and browbeat the white middle class as racists and rich man wanna-bes who have no right to think they deserve a better life and should instead redistribute any wealth they might be able to accumulate to those less fortunate. Meanwhile it was the Democrats and their flagship policies which activated the welfare dependencies that smoked Blacks and turned them semi-violent and resentful. All while insiders got rich and fat selling those same stupid bumper stickers. Somehow the left figured out a way to have the most Ivy-league educated professorial types attain exactly the same mindset as urban ghetto trash. This, to them, is progress.

All the liberals do this... the civil rights movement of the 60's was the last ethical movement democrats were involved in... (of course they were late to the party ... but the press bought into them as the 'leaders'...)

An aside - Martin Luther King, Jr. daughter voted for Donald Trump.

Still don’t know what “high crimes and misdemeanors” would justify his impeachment, much less his conviction.
