Roseanne Barr, the sitcom superstar fired by ABC Tuesday over a racist tweet, did not react well to statements released by her Roseanne co-stars Sara Gilbert and Michael Fishman. Gilbert, who played Roseanne Connors daughter Darlene and who reportedly was responsible for the sitcoms reboot condemned Barr in a widely-circulated tweet Tuesday.
Roseannes recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least, Gilbert said.

Roseanne dragged Gilbert off the unemployment line...
False.
That certainly put it in proper perspective now didn’t it!
” I don’t know what Barr expected Gilbert to say.”
She could have said nothing. Gilbert probably owes her career to Barr.
Truth is that it was a big puppet show to go after Trump.
Contrast with Jerry Seinfeld when his co-star literally threw out N bombs. He didn’t defend the comments at all, but he stood by the person and gave him a chance to explain, show contrition and move forward. He treated him like a friend and professional colleague.
The remarks could have been condemned but something conciliatory towards Roseanne thrown in. But hey I get it the people who made a living off Roseanne scrambled for cover when the shots flew.
This is typical Hollywood. I’m no fan of Rosanne Barr. I thought her re-boot show was good to talk about important issues that real people are dealing with in middle America. However, Sarah Gilbert knew all about Rosanne’s past tweets and actions (heck, Rosanne gave a big F You to the flag and national anthem herself at a San Diego Padres game years ago) and she still wanted to do this re-boot.
It’s kind of like MSNBC asking Joy Reid to comment on Rosannes twitter rant, oh wait that did happen!! None of these people have any shame and the majority of them are as fake as a three dollar bill...
Can't argue with that. Even Barr distanced herself from her own remarks.
Have ANY of them addressed the Muslim Brotherhood charge?
it was a big thing in Obama’s White House... allegedly
The really big news here, that has gone unnoticed is the Valerie Jarrett missed her best chance to rise above all of this. She decided to call this a lesson, instead of forgiving Roseanne for saying it. Roseanne said it, she realized it was wrong, she apologized. Aside from hanging out at starbucks, using their restroom and not buying anything, there’s nothing else she should be expected to do for Val or anyone else.
Oh, I assume she’s had a stellar film, stage and television career that I missed, lol. I’ve heard she’s going to replace Bette Midler in Hello, Dolly.
The first rule of Vallerie Jarrett, is
You can’t talk about Vallerie Jarrett.
THAT was the problem.
Cancelling this show has nothing to do with “racism”. It has everything to do with the show being Trump-positive. On that I would bet the farm.
Have John Goodman or Laurie Metcalf issued “statements”? They were always quiet during problems in the original run of the show. Unlike the others, they have had stellar careers - Metcalf, in particular.
...fired by ABC Tuesday over a racist tweet...
It wasn’t racist. That is an incorrect inference that the entire MSM is spreading. She was singling out two groups that are known for their tactics, not race.
And the planet of the apes part was especially funny, I thought. Those that suggest it was racist are actually exposing their own racism.
lets hope the kid invested well.
If Rush still had a tv show, I could see him putting out some side by side pics for comparison. I don’t think he would limit it to ValJar either.
Advice I'm sure Barr is wising someone had given her before she Tweeted.
