Roseanne Barr, the sitcom superstar fired by ABC Tuesday over a racist tweet, did not react well to statements released by her Roseanne co-stars Sara Gilbert and Michael Fishman. Gilbert, who played Roseanne Connor’s daughter Darlene — and who reportedly was responsible for the sitcom’s reboot — condemned Barr in a widely-circulated tweet Tuesday.
“Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least,” Gilbert said.

Isn’t she a sweet little nazi. Did she check with everyone associated with the show before speaking for them?
Why? What did Barr expect? Gilbert said the remarks were "abhorrent". Barr herself admitted they were wrong and offered an apology. Gilbert said that the comments don't reflect the views of the rest of the cast. The rest of the cast haven't disagreed with Gilbert on that, exactly the opposite. Gilbert said she was disappointed with Barr. Barr has said she shouldn't have done what she did so I guess she's disappointed in herself. I guess I don't know what Barr expected Gilbert to say.
What she said was stupid...but...
these two have known her since they were children and willfully returned to the show, praising her and being quite gracious to her.
All those decades knowing her, you mean to tell me they never thought she was racist until yesterday?
So, Rosanne makes this woman’s entire career and she kicks her when she’s down just so she can virtue signal. How hard is it just to keep quiet?

Think about all the Disney characters that look like the people whose voices are used in the shows. The first one that comes to mind is the Tarzan character based on Rosie O’Donnell.
The concerted network reaction has been to cause a galvanizing rejection of Rosanne personally. Besides the current show, it seems syndicated runs of the old show have stopped. That is the bread and butter of former actors. No more residuals. Zip. Everybody hates Roseanne - because she supported DJT. She is alone and isolated.
This rejection was as much a warning shot to other actors who might decide to embrace Trump. Everything you have built, we will take away.
of course they are pissed at Rosie. $$$. I cannot imagine Michael Fishman was working steady in entertainment b4 this reboot. and now he is missing residuals from the old Roseanne,too.

Fishman, who plays Roseanne Connor’s son D.J., released a statement saying he was “devastated” by the show’s cancellation and that he condemns Barr’s statements “vehemently. They are reprehensible and intolerable, contradicting my beliefs and outlook on life and society.”
“My character was designed to represent the inclusive nature of my views … we must stand up against bias, hatred, bigotry and ignorance to make society a better place for all.”
Barr accused Fishman of ignoring the fact that she created that platform for inclusivity and for throwing her under the bus.
“[I] created the platform for that inclusivity and you know it. ME. You throw me under the bus. nice!”
However, I'm sticking by her in this because of the blatant double standard. The only reason she is being lynched is she came out as a Trump supporter. I can GUARANTEE if she was a hard core lefty Hillary support and made the EXACT same comment about a black conservative (say Ben Carson). She would still have a show, every leftist would be rushing to her defense, Whoopi Goldberg would be defending her on The View, and the liberal media would dismiss it as "just a joke,wacky Roseanne being herself" and telling conservatives to lighten up.
Well said, so very well said. I have run out of words to express my frustration with the politically correct, identity group madness, where this kind of low-level bs gets a successful teevee show cancelled (in which I don’t even have a personal stake of any kind, as I don’t watch teevee), but university professors can call for the extermination of whites and get a slap on the wrist, if that. The words (and they were a big nothing, at that) of a teevee actress matter more than the calls of white genocide from those who are paid to teach young adults.
I wrote to Melissa in her role as SAG president after Ronald Reagan died to ask that SAG do something special to honor him. After all, not only was he the only SAG head who became POTUS, but he was responsible for creating the residuals system that has supported thousands of actors ever since. I got no response and SAG didn't do squat to honor Reagan. The most Hollyweird could muster was to include Reagan in their annual Academy Awards remembrance of people who died during the year just past. So don't jump to the side of the Gilbert skanks.
Roseanne dragged Gilbert off the unemployment line and this is what she gets in return. Never fails!

You’re right. But in today’s world you can call people fat or ugly and still salvage your career. Mention any connection between simians and blacks and your career is over. for good.
Fishman's only hope for continued work in Hollywood is if he willingly gets absorbed into the Satanic/kiddy porn milieu that the town offers.

Call me stupid, but I thought Valerie Jarrett was Middle Eastern. Didn’t know she was black. She doesn’t look black.
That's putting it mildly, unlike Sara Gilbert and John Goodman who went on to bigger and better things, the height of Michael Fishman's post Roseanne career over the last two decades since the original show went off the air was some minor voicework in a couple of cartoons and video games. He literally has nothing else.
I almost feel a bit sorry for him, while Roseanne, John Goodman and crew will just shrug and go back to their mansions, Michael Fishman cash cow just got sent to the butcher, he'll likely be waiting tables at the local Denny's in a year or two when the residuals dry up...
