White House correspondent and CNN contributor April Ryan is no stranger to controversy in the Trump era. She has sparred with both Press Secretary Sean Spicer (remember the "stop shaking your head" moment?) and Sarah Huckabee Sanders during several entertaining press briefings. Now, that press room drama has made its way to the First Lady's office.
On Saturday, Ryan tweeted out an article entitled, “Is the Trump Administration Running a Child-Trafficking Ring or Nah? Follow Me Down the Rabbit Hole.” It's a piece from The Root criticizing Trump for peddling conspiracy theories.
Melania Trump's communications director Stephanie Grisham didn't take kindly to Ryan's tweet, asking why reporters like her can get away with sharing fake news.

The Trump Administration needs to play hardball. Pull her WH press credentials, along with Jim Acosta.

I can’t say I’m shocked, because I’ve held the media in contempt for a very long time. But still — these people are truly psychotic. There is nothing normal about how they try to do their job.
And I don’t think they are exactly cynical. I mean: I don’t think they go home and admit to a spouse, “We did lay it on pretty thick today. It’s all BS, of course, but this guy has really strict view on abortion and immigration and we need to do whatever it takes to get him out of office.”
No. I think they all go home to a spouse and say: “Trump is insane! Insane I tell you! He must be stopped! The strawberries! That’s where we’ll get him!”

Allowing these fake reporters to spew their hatred will only invite the other jackals in the WH press corps to do the same. Outrageous and disrespectful behavior should never be tolerated.
The American people know how vile, vengeful and untruthful the media is and would support the yanking of their press credentials.
It’s long past time to toss the race card into the cardboard recycling bin.
I can’t even imagine why at this point this would be a subject for debate. She needs to be made an example to the rest of the press corps. It’s a privilege to be on the White House press team, not a right. CNN already has the nitwit Acosta in there. They won’t lose coverage by dropping Ryan. It needs to be done now.

Interesting how the actual facts show exactly the reverse. Human trafficking arrests are way up under Trump as compared to any of his predecessors, including Obama.
