Noblesville Mayor John Ditslear considers himself a Second Amendment guy, but I also know and respect guns, and if youve got young children in the house any and all guns should be locked up and not accessible to kids, period.
That warning was on the mayors mind this past Saturday, 24 hours after the Noblesville West Middle School shooting, when he realized Hoosier Armory was having its grand opening at 10th and Logan streets just a block off the citys downtown square, complete with a tent to encourage registration and membership in the NRA.
I did approach the owner and I just told him that, No one expected this but youre hurting your business, in my opinion, strongly, and youre hurting our city,

I’m disappointed that the NRA backed down & did not sign up new members.
THERE IS A LESSON HERE: NEVER! EVER! GIVE IN TO LIEBERALS!
I'm all about personal responsibility and I'm hardly a drug warrior. Some years ago, I lived alone and was prescribed some medication (I was wounded in Iraq) that really made me feel like I was coming unglued. Luckily, I had the presence of mind to not do anything stupid, and flushed the meds cold turkey (contrary to doctor's orders).
I have noticed many of these school shooters have been placed on various meds (in my opinion to drug the testosterone out of them). I'm not saying the correlation is causation, and it's no excuse, but I do think we need to take a hard look at some of the psychotropic drugs prescribed to children.
If there are any drugs that actually fit the Drug Warriors' create-crazed-killers meme, they're not the illegal recreational drugs but these legally prescribed ones.
My old uncle Ed was sort of a cattleman range warden, and he told me once that you should only own what you can carry, and carry it always. He owned a hogleg pistol, and a shotgun and a lever action, and were always with him - were never left in the house under lock and key or where ever. He took them to work on up his horse and/or ATV and/or snowmobile and used them everywhere, and quite often.
I always thought that was kind of an interesting Concept and made for a interesting mental exercise, however the what ifs involved are for people who have many multiple guns and no workable solution would be Physically possible. the end result being Twilight Zone scenario where the man who only likes to read has his glasses broken during a nuclear disaster and finds himself on able to read the multitude of books at the now wide open and wrecked Library.
If I was able to only own what I could carry into carry it always it would probably be a pistol and AR-15 with a grenade launcher under the barrel. But practically speaking, a pistol. (Remember, this is a mental exercise).
If we could only own but we could carry and carry it always the end result would be no loose Firearms laying around for kids to get into trouble with.
A workable solution to this mental exercise, and for those who hunt Etc... and cannot possibly carry everything with them all the time... the need will exist for businesses who would rent the Firearms as needed for the game hunted. But - they can always carry their Firearm of choice.
Who cares about the “shooters motives”? It’s time to start throwing their parents in prison. If the child is young enough to escape accountability, the accountability falls on the parents- it doesn’t just disappear.
LOL!
I know the guy. He Loved Loved Loved helping very young girls on the swim team. I grew up in Noblesville. There were a lot of creeps including Ditz, Busby and his creep son. Thieved money from the parks and city council. Ditz OTOH had a son swimmer about my age but all he cared about were the little girls. There are some fish buried in Hamilton county and I can’t wait for the opportunity to dig them up and expose the stench. (Winking at Schwartz.) Things like a girl named Beaver that married Ditz’s son and their concrete biz. Ditz started out as a life insurance salesman before his venture into politics. He was a creep then and he is a creep today.
I believe the 4473 says you cannot possess a firearm if adjudicated mentally ill by a court. Since leftism/Marxism is a mental illness...
This.
Never knuckle under yo liberals and never apologize to a mob.
Why, those poor people outside of Texas, of course.
The girl who was quoted sounded like she never did her homework re gun safes, gunlocks, etc.
About 30 years ago I wrote a major column for the No. Virginia Journal about a “gun lock” that I had bought for $10 at a local gunstore in Baltimore. No liberals ever replied to it. Wonder why?
I always had my rifle locked when my kids were young. Still do so today.
It didn’t take any imagination to walk into a gun or sporting goods store and ask for a gun lock. The same for gun-safes. The NRA offers safety courses about gun safety as well as gun shooting, to anyone who wants to learn.
PS: My son was an Army M49 SAW soldier in Iraq. Qualified at 1,000 yards. Didn’t miss when needed. He also became a police officer yet he and his team took down (tackles) two crazed individuals with knives. You just have to know how to handle a situation.
My son-in-law is a Marine veteran of Kosovo and Iraq (Operation Ripper). The guy does know how to shoot. So does his son and step-granddaughter (my daughter’s girl).
My daughter can outshoot most men, used to help operate a shooting range/gun store while in college, and is an NRA licensed provider of CCWP information for potential holders.
My father was a Marksman during WW2. My father-in-law fought at Iwo.
And for this old geezer, I can still shoot a 1-2” heart or headshot pattern at 25 feet. Next time I’m going for 50 or more. We “deplorables” have got to stay sharp these days.
However, all of us have gun locks and gun safes. Always had. Always will. Safety is everybody’s business.
Hopefully the young girl in this story will read something about the subject before sounding totally ignorant of what’s already out there.
[I blame that on what is NOT taught in schools today, common sense and hard work, or “Research before you speak”].
PERSIST! PERSIST! PERSIST!
NEVER GIVE IN!
ALL LIEBERALS ARE SCUMBAGS; NEVER TRUST A LIEBERAL!
Thumbs up, on your last paragraph!
Even in 1st grade, there were fist fights after school behind the gym a couple of days a week.
By 6th grade, the PE Coach would require us to settle disputes/bullying by going to the gym after school, putting on boxing gloves and then slugging it out.
Clearly many presidents and others cannot understand what shall not be infringed means.
Ditslear’s a jerk and was just running a scam on his little town of Noblesville.
.38 and .357 REVOLVER and
Lever Action RIFLE are
A Good Fit to Your exercise.
Roger that!
Very well played!
Deserves repeating:
“Once upon a time when boys were allowed to be boys, when guns and their proper use was taught and not vilified, we didn’t have school shootings like this because the boys were allowed to settle their differences in short fights that rarely resulted in serious injury. So don’t blame the NRA and guns, put the blame where it truly belongs, the Dr. Spock lunatic, flower child, pussified liberals that have screwed up our kids until this inevitable result has been achieved.”
FRiends of mine, many years ago, were parents of a spoiled rotten, totally self-centered pre-teen daughter. She was cute, but had a butt-ugly personality.
I ran into the three of them a few years later, and asked what had transformed their daughter into such a lovely young lady, perfectly mannered, polite, well-spoken, etc. etc.
Their (paraphrased) response: “We threw Dr. Spock in the trash and beat the crap out of her! Straightened her right out!”
The Transformation!
The word "BUT" is actually an acronym that stands for "Behold the Ultimate Truth". Anything that follows the "BUT" is the truth. Everything that precedes it is a lie.
