Noblesville Mayor John Ditslear considers himself a Second Amendment guy, but I also know and respect guns, and if youve got young children in the house any and all guns should be locked up and not accessible to kids, period.
That warning was on the mayors mind this past Saturday, 24 hours after the Noblesville West Middle School shooting, when he realized Hoosier Armory was having its grand opening at 10th and Logan streets just a block off the citys downtown square, complete with a tent to encourage registration and membership in the NRA.
I did approach the owner and I just told him that, No one expected this but youre hurting your business, in my opinion, strongly, and youre hurting our city,

To paraphrase what someone else said, not original with me,
Blaming the gun for shootings is like blaming Ford or Chevy for drunk driving car crashes.
So would it be out of place, to have an event at a car lot, soon after a car crash? That’s the same logic here.
Never mind that it was a seventh grader with 2 pistols. a SEVENTH GRADER.
The media has gone completely silent on the shooter’s motives (the guns were his fathers) but has concentrated only on the NRA and the protests and hand-wringing “oh how can we stop this”
Well maybe if we started actually enforcing morality and reasoning in home and the schools again.
Only boys care what 17 year old girls think. I don’t.
Anyone who says “I am for the Second Amendment but...” is a liar. Such a person is not for the 2A.
Betcha he was happy to have NRA members vote for him though. Don’t expect it next time.
Ditslear, btw, is GOP.
There are in my view quite a number of people in that part of the country who are one step over the line from Nazi tyranny. The mayor appears to be one of them. He could see no other way to get his message across than play the jack boot thug authoritarian. Then, when he did not get his way, he turns to public ugliness. Because he is smarter than everyone else.
Is there a video game store in town selling violent video games? Did he try shutting them down with public shaming? I won’t apologize if he did, but I would admit that he is an equal opportunity Nazi. Of course he didn’t!
No. You should lock up your kids if they’re so stupid as to play with guns.
Ive know the Hoosier Armory owner for many years. I’ve purchased many times from him. He’s a great guy and proud American. The mayor and his political grandstanding have embarrassed Noblesville.
>>Blaming the gun for shootings is like blaming Ford or Chevy for drunk driving car crashes.
But they don’t even go after the guns now. They blame the NRA, so it is like blaming MADD after someone dies in a drunk driving crash.
Fair weather douche. These folks have no courage.
Anything you say before *but* doesn't mean anything.
“He needs to be voted out in the next election.”
Why wait? An obvious abrogation of his oath of office.
Start and complete a recall!
“Anyone who says I am for the Second Amendment but... is a liar. Such a person is not for the 2A.”
Amen.
Back in the 90’s here in SoCal, cops had a shootout with bad guys using full auto AK’s. The cops went to a nearby gunstore to get guns with enough oomph to compete with the bad guys.
Uh, I thought I read the shooter was 19. Bueller?
The AAA is a terrorist organization promoting driving; it’s like banning a sober person from driving because drunks do.
I remember that.I think they were finally taken down by shots from under a car to the lower legs and ankles.I believe they committed suicide shortly thereafter.
Good analogy. I used it too on some idiot liberals, and they couldn’t grasp it. Then I took out a coloring book and drew...
