Is it dangerous to speak Spanish in public in Trump's America? Well, sí! Just this month, we've seen a lawyer threaten to call ICE after he overheard people in a restaurant in Manhattan speak in Spanish, and a Border Patrol agent in Montana detain two Mexican-American women for 40 minutes because he heard the bilingual women chatting en español, because the language is very unheard of up here, according to la migra man.

ai cabrone!
If the zeros over at NBC really believe this, Why are they teaching their kids in Spanish?
Don’t forget French and Portuguese, dumbasses.
Don’t forget French and Portuguese, dumbasses.
Spanish??? Tell that to the Asian Indians, Chinese, Koreans and dozens of other nationalities that want to come to America.
BS. Spanish was spoken in Kali, Texas, and Florida. That’s about it. The rest was English. Very few Spanish speakers were in the rest of the western US.
I knew this was going to happen once they made “medical marijuana” recreational.
Spanish is an oppressive language.
Specifically, it is the language of the conquistadores, imposed upon the native populations of Central and South America.
>>And the lingo of the most American icon of them all, the cowboy, is mucho mucho with Spanish roots, from buckaroo (from vaquero cowboy) to vamoose (from vamoslets go) to that most red-blooded car of them all, the Mustang (from the Spanish word for stray animals).
How queer, earlier this year was that the original cowboys were black and that the heroics of the Lone Ranger were modeled upon the actions of black cowboys.
These race groups need to talk and get their retrocontinuity history on the same page.
Why is this NBC article written in English?
The author brings up Chicanos as a thing and how Americans look down upon them. Chicano was a pejorative used by the Mexicans to designate these cultural half-breeds as only being “a little Mexican”.
But what about Ebonics? Too much cultural appropriation going on here.
Except for Brazil, where Portuguese took hold.
And Quebec, known then as New France and Haiti - knew French.
I was born in 1960 and traveled extensively across the country.
Except for the southwest, Spanish was not heard in most of this country until GHW Bush decided we were going to be a Spanish/English majority Hispanic country.
Because the author is a “stick it in their eye” bigot.
“Latinos love la habla not just because its part of their culture, but because we know what conservatives refuse to accept: Spanish, not English, is the most all-American language of them all.”
“Now, with an increasingly diverse America, speaking Spanish is just going back to our roots roots that modern-day Know-Nothings fear being left out of.”
Liberal MO...project what you want to be true, but not the truth.
Pure unadulterated BS.
