More than 200 headstones were spray-painted with swastikas at a Illinois cemetery overnight Saturday.
The cemetery is the resting place for more than 1,300 veterans and is planning to host a Memorial Day event on Monday, a local CBS affiliate reported.
Staff at the Sunset Hills Cemetery in Glen Carbon are working to clean up the vandalism before the event.

As a daughter of parents both WWII Veterans I am sickened by these actions. The state of Illinois, Land of Lincoln, is becoming the armpit of the nation. A criminal record, hefty fine, a public apology and community service for at least 25 years warranted. . .no matter the age of the perpetrator(s).

Where is Sunset Hills and Glen Carbon ?. Knew of two Illinois VA cemeteries not this one .
indeed,they could be doing all the useful or enjoyable things in life.. that our good veterans sacrificed and/or, yes, died ...to enable them to do!
