Putting squeeze on gun-makers could help curb Chicago’s gun violence (barf alert)
Chicago S-T ^ | 26 may 2018

If a gun shop does a lousy job of keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, police officers shouldn’t buy their guns from those shops.

If a gun-maker allows its guns to be sold at those lousy shops, the police shouldn’t buy those makes of guns.

And if a gun manufacturer does a lousy job of making guns that are childproof and useless to thieves, the cops should pass on buying those guns, too.

I’ve never understood how punishing the law abiding for the acts of the criminal reduces crime.

Of course all this has nothing to do with Rahm Emmanuel firing Chicagos Police Chief and Dismantling a 30 year old Gang Task Force the very first week he got in office. No of course not.

It doesn’t, it’s just an excuse to confiscate. If we’re gonna do that we need to come down on syringe manufacturers for allowing syringes in the hands of drug addicts......makes about as much sense.

If a gun manufacturer makes a gun that doesn’t work at all, will the Chi-Town solons equip their cops with them and claim “mission accomplished?”

“The hardest working paper in America”.....

Second only to toilet paper, the paper that handles the really dirty jobs.

Having sane, hard working, respectable fathers present in the homes of young Chicago boys will cut down on the murder rate. But the Rat Party wants taxpayers to be the breadwinner in such homes, not fathers.

I visited Trump Tower in NYC for the first time the other day and there were two guys...either NYPD or Secret Service (not sure which)...with semi-automatics that looked real enough.

Yeah, because gun law abiding citizens are shooting up Chicago, right?

A real cynic might think that the gun-grabbing liberals true interest is to use shooting deaths to justify more gun-grabbing.

Failure to even begin to comprehend the problem. Controlling urban homicides by outlawing guns is like stopping bank robberies by outlawing money.

Urban African-American households have a much lower firearm ownership rates -- both legal and illegal firearms -- than suburban and rural white households. If guns were the problem that could not be the case.

If they can't even allow their Kool-Aid-addled brains to think about the problem, they will never fix the problem.

Typical LIB lunatic response to a problem. Pathetic, yet typical.

Exchange the word “gun” with “car” and it illustrates how idiotic this is.

And if a local government insists upon this sort of nonsense, gun manufacturers should refuse to sell to it.

If a gun shop is selling to criminals are they not themselves criminals and subject to arrest? What a bunch of horse puckey. They really don’t know their a$$es from a hole in the ground.

There is no place to leave a helpful suggestion on the ST editorial, so I'm forced to leave it here:

Because they aren’t interested in reducing crime.

A civil war scholar was studying a certain Army’s troop movements, puzzled over their routes during the war, they were seemingly erratic and made no sense. Until a clear map overlay was placed over the routes outlining the regions whisky distillery locations. Then it made perfect, logical sense!

Once you get a handle on the lefty playbook, everything they do (or don’t do) makes perfect sense. Basically, they want you dead.

The guns do not come in that way. They know damned well that there is an illegal arms trade, just as there is an illegal drugs trade.

Their intention is to take guns from non-violent citizens, and leave them in the hands of violent criminals. Of this, there is no doubt.
