Alabama last elected a Democrat as governor 20 years ago. Former Gov. Robert Bentley received nearly twice the votes as Democrat Parker Griffith in the most recent gubernatorial contest four years ago.
The Cook Political Report labels Alabama's governor's race as "solid Republican." The same label comes from the Larry J. Sabato's Crystal Ball, produced at the University of Virginia Center for Politics.
"Barring some major developments in this race, it's difficult to see a path for a Democrat to win," said Geoffrey Skelley, associate editor with the Crystal Ball.
Said Waymon Burke, a political science professor at Calhoun Community College: "It's definitely an uphill battle."

Only if Roy Moore is running
True.
“Only if Roy Moore is running”
Sure. All he has to do is get mentally ill women to make 38 year old unprovable accusations against his opponent, and the Republican party will deliberately stab their guy in the back and urge everyone to vote for the Democrat.
LOL....the RATs love Roy Moore
If Sabato says it is solid Republican you better be ready for the reverse. Lol.
Went from upstanding Christian example to human garbage all on the basis of psychotic kook women (two) making unprovable accusations.
That trick will work on anyone. Pied Piper media can always lead around a sufficient number of people to get it to work.
The Republican candidate in Alabama is the incumbent female governor Kay Ivey...........
So easy to lie about, because everyone wishes to believe that Christian people are hypocrites. It is an alluring lie, and a lot of people simply cannot wait to believe it.
“Can a Democrat win the Alabama governor’s race?”
Depends on how many liberal yankees have infiltrated.

Then they'll have to come up with some other lie, because that last lie won't work on women. Perhaps they will allege she's had multiple lovers or abortions or something.
Of course a governor's race is not nearly as important as a US Senate race, so they will probably just let this one happen without the sort of deliberate interference they used with the Senate race.
Of all the candidates running in that race Roy Moore was the most likely to support Donald Trump without question.
The GOPe won a big one there when they took down Roy Moore. I know I’m not celebrating that.
So what?? Massachusetts supposedly has a “Republican” Governor. I have yet to see any benefit.
Nope, the Dems have been circulating ‘secret lesbian’ rumors................

Just clone George Wallace. LOL
He says he might.
I was raised in Southern California and Iowa (i.e. a “Yankee”) but I have never voted for a liberal or a Democrat while living in Mississippi or Texas. You paint with a pretty broad brush.
Okay, I was wrong on the particular accusation, but correct about them pulling stuff like this. Unless they've got strong proof, it isn't going anywhere.
This time around, they won't likely have the National Media Monster Weapon hammering the people of Alabama.
We need to absolutely destroy that Monster Media Weapon. It is undermining our system of governance.
