... In recent days the president, in tandem with his allies in conservative media, has launched a full frontal attack on special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian election meddling and possible collusion with the Trump campaign. But the president has provided no evidence to support his allegations.
This latest unproven claim of a spy scandal now joins of list of other bold allegations by the president that so far have not proven true, including his claim that President Barack Obama had Trump Tower wiretapped, that millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 election, and that President Obama was not born in the United States.
Meanwhile, the Department of Justice announced that the president's demand for an investigation into the FBI's investigation will be handled as part of an ongoing internal review by the inspector general. And officials from the Justice Department, Director of National Intelligence and the FBI are expected to comply Thursday with a request from a handful of House Republicans to brief them on highly classified documents related to the FBI probe.
These lawmakers, led by House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., hope the documents will answer their questions about whether the FBI overstepped. But the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., calls it an abuse of power.
"I dont think any of us have any idea what the White House is doing, except that they want to use any mechanism they can to get their hands on materials they think will be useful for their legal defense team and theyre willing to break down the wall of independence between the White House and the Justice Department to do it," Schiff told ABC News. "Sadly, they have allies in Congress who are all too happy to help in destroying these institutions."

How can you watch that Jack Ass?
How can you watch that Jack Ass?
Justice Department is in the Executive Branch.
Who appoints the Attorney General and who takes care according to his oath of office to see to it the laws are faithfully executed?
That would be the POTUS, DUH! The constitutional illiteracy among journalists is mind-numbing.
That seem to have not gotten their story straight yet: not true, or justified?
They don’t know what the US Constitution is.....
Well, at least they're experts on guns and ammunition, especially the automatic revolvers and such.
Does co-conspirator ABC News really think they have access to all the information about this that Trump has?
They’ve pretty much admitted it. They are down to arguing about semantics. They say it wasn’t “spying” just “investigating.”
He’s planted the seed. If something did happen, he will claim I told you so. If nothing is established, he can continue to play on it and there will be those who despite any evidence to the contrary will believe it.
I flipped channels.
This is who they are and I love how Trump makes fools out of them.
I hope they keep showing their rabid hate until November.
Its entertaining to watch the depths to which they have fallen.
☺
See it? I just saw Clapper admit it on the View.
++++++++++
You beat me to it. But dont forget that it wasnt spying. It was protection. Clapper, Comey, McCabe and Brennan were just doing their best to help Trump.
And if you believe that ...
He’s playing them like Stormy Daniels on a 1,000 dollar Saturday night.
LOL
Well, they asked for that one.
“Unproven scandal” ? - I guess ABC News doesn’t read the New York Times
Next will be “everyone does it.”
Mueller was appointed without any proof of a crime. In a year he’s has found no proof of any crime. No the press want proof. How odd...
Millions believe this propaganda. They are going to start a panic riot by the left at some point.
Scott did a nice job explain it there...
