President Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday that he believes that Trump should interview with special counsel Robert Mueller, in a reversal of his previous statements on the topic.
“I guess I’d rather do the interview. It gets it over with it, it makes my client happy,” Giuliani told The Washington Post. “The safe course you hear every lawyer say is don’t do the interview, and that’s easy to say in the abstract. That’s much harder when you have a client who is the president of the United States and wants to be interviewed.”
Giuliani has cast doubt on Trump interviewing with Mueller in the past. He told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published Tuesday that if he were to make a decision on the interview in that moment, he would decide against it.
The former New York City mayor told The Post in the new interview that Trump has vacillated over whether or not he wants to interview with Mueller in the probe.
“There have been a few days where he says, ‘maybe you guys are right,’” Giuliani said, referring to members of Trump’s legal team who have warned him against talking with Mueller.
“Then he goes right back to, ‘why shouldn’t I?’” he added.
He also said that he was concerned that a Trump interview with Mueller could be set up to catch the president on a possible perjury charge because “truth is relative.”
“They may have a different version of the truth than we do,” Giuliani said.

Trump is a big boy. I am a lawyer. I tell my many clients “you get my opinion,not what you want to hear but you do not have to do what I say. DON’T DO IT! Mueller cannot be trusted, period. None of his people can be trusted, period.
Let Mueller swing in the wind. Tell him you might talk to him after the November elections, but then, again, you might not.
Apparently Mueller can’t subpoena a president, and by then, he might be found guilty of lying to Congress, abuse of authority or lack of authority for his Special Counsel position and investigation, malicious prosecution or persecution, lying to the public (a Big No No by liberal standards), and being an egomaniacal bastard in betraying our country and the Constitution.
Otherwise, Mr. President, you can talk to him LATER.
It is amazing after three years of watching Donald J. Trump in action that some of us still can’t figure out that this man never shows his true hand especially when he’s in combat against the Deep State! It’s a ruse! Trump knows damn well that Mueller is trying to lay a trap for him. He sent Rudy out there to send another misdirection play at them!
