A former CIA officer who was imprisoned for leaking classified information to journalists said he was initially was cleared of charges until Obama-era CIA Director John Brennan got involved.
John Kiriakou said he had "no idea" he was under investigation in 2007 for sharing details of terrorists' interrogations to journalists.
Kiriakou said his story should be relevant to President Donald Trump, who is dealing with the same officials in his Russia probe as Kiriakou did.
"In 2007, the Bush administration investigated me and determined I hadn't committed a crime," he said.
However, Kiriakou said that once President Obama took power in 2009, a series of memos showed that Brennan asked Attorney General Eric Holder to reopen his case.

The department said it had no evidence of such, but Brennan responded something to the effect of "charge him anyway and make him defend himself," according to Kiriakou."

There are a few independent journalists out there, but they don’t work for the dinosaur media. The MSM long ago was housebroken by the Permanent State or the Deep State. The DS invited the press to a few parties and spoon fed them leaks. The leaks made the press lazy and also allowed the DS to shape the narrative.

Myth: The CIA does not collect information concerning the domestic activities of US citizens, except with Candidate Trump, President Elect Trump. President Trump his family, friends and anyone has been around him since he was 10 years old.
Clapper has been a great friend of the CIA/DOJ/FBI versus Trump in these issues. Clapper has not found anything yet that was illegal by Trump or his people. Reality: The National Security Act of 1947 and multiple Executive Orders provide the authority for CIA activities. The CIA reports to two Congressional oversight committees, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI), which ensure that the Agency operates legally and within the scope of its charter.
However this oversight did not apply to any CIA/DOJ/FBI actions against Candidate Trump, President Elect Trump and President Trump and any of Trump’s family, friends or workers.
In addition, the CIA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) provides independent oversight of the CIA. The OIG performs independent audits, inspections, investigations and reviews of CIA programs and operations.
Again this does/did not apply to anything the CIA did/does against candidate Trump, President Elect Trump, President Trump, Trumps friends, staff or family. They are fair game to CIA/FBI operatives and any thugs like Halper, we hire to do our dirty work, er monitoring of the Trumps.

Reality:
The CIA, unlike the FBI, has no law enforcement authority. The Agency’s mission is foreign intelligence collection and analysis. If you have a law enforcement issue, contact your local police department or the US Department of Justice.
The reality: We would have arrested candidate Trump, President Elect Trump, President Trump, Trumps friends, staff or family if the damn internet wasn’t around. The Trumps are still fair game to CIA/DOJ/FBI operatives!
Myth: The CIA makes foreign policy.
Reality: The CIA forms/guides foreign policy. It works with other members of the Intelligence Community to produce objective analysis/BS on intelligence issues. The president and policymakers make all US policy decisions, not the CIA.
However, Candidate Trump, President Elect Trump and now President Trump should never make foreign policy. Only the Obama team can do that, or his flunkies like John Kerry working with Iran at this time.
