I have been buying and watching the Cheyenne DVDs. I wasn’t born when they aired, but are they good! They are like mini movies instead of the average TV show.
Clint Walker was great in those shows. RIP
None But the Brave. Good flick. I remember the Japanese officer’s narration: “I could have killed him right there but in the loneliness of command we are brothers.” Sammy Jackson from the tv series “No Time For Sargents’ died in that flick at the end. Tommy Sands , a teenage hearthrob was a marine lieutenant, hard headed and by the book. That statement came back to me when Barbara Walters bitchslapped 41 and Dukakis at the start of their presidential debate.
Definitely one of my favorite cowboys from back in my childhood. I remember hearing back then that he could benchpress 300 lbs, and that sealed the deal for me. No actor could bench 300 pounds! Proved that he was a real man, a real cowboy. Fond memories. RIP.
i always watch “Night of the Grizzly” when its on...always liked him as an actor.
Yup. Looked it up after I posted. Directed by Sinatra. Not a bad effort.
When they came out with a Jack Reacher movie, I told my wife that the perfect actor for the part would have been Clint Walker in his younger days.
I think that he fit exactly in looks, size and demeanor as the character is described in the books.
Afterthought. Really PO’d me when they put the pygmy in the role.
He was almost the last Iconic TV Cowboy star left. Robert Fuller from Wagon Train and Laramie may be the last one left.
Once upon a time in 1960 there were about 31 westerns on TV and then there only three TV networks. Great shows and great stars.
I loved Laramie, still seen on the GRIT channel, Cheyenne, Wagon Train, Sugar Foot, Bronco Lane, and so many others.
Clint Walker was a great guy and sorry he is gone. In the last three years Hugh O’Brian, and Robert Horton also died.
RIP Clint and thanks for all the great hours of entertainment.
While that is true, what really made his body a freak of nature were the proportions. He had a 48” chest with a 32” waist.
Loved the show.
RIP, Mr Walker!
Oh Lord, i am so old.
None but the Brave 1965
Oh no...he was a wonderful man, great conservative and a good actor. Mark Levin used to have him on as a guest and his sense and wit were charming.
Go with God, Mr. Black.
May the angels sing him home
His TV show was pretty good but not great.
He really was a big guy.
6’ 6”
Cheyenne and The Day of the Grizzly.
RIP!
He was a great conservative too and a good friend of Mark Levin’s - was on his show many times. Bet Mark is doing a tribute to him tonight. I wait until the podcast later - no commercials.
As I recall, he was pretty good in that.
Err....Night of the Grizzly!
