Not that long ago, cigarettes were completely woven into American culture. The Marlboro Man, posters telling us that more doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette, even the armrests on planes and all our cars were designed for smokers.
And now? Not so much.
Can it work like that with guns?
(snip)
I grew up surrounded by cigarette smoke. My dad smoked. So did practically everyone else I knew.
But my kids? Totally different.
They saw someone smoking in a restaurant while we were traveling abroad recently and they freaked out, like theyd witnessed a beheading.
Inconceivable in their world.

I believe that after the Boomers die off, the generations following will be so few that believe in gun ownership that they will willingly give up guns. When that happens they will be sheep going to their slaughter during the next tyrannical government.
I like your two cents.
No we won’t give up our guns, but we can give up the Post like we gave up CNN
Interesting, this writer compares gun to cigarettes and claims both have “killed millions”
Fair enough but less cigarettes smoking haven’t resulted in millions living longer, healthier lives.
In fact, people are MORE sick and not even living to the age of their smoking parents and grandparents.
What gives?
People are eating MORE and more unhealthy foods.
Getting rid of guns may leave the killers to use more destructive ways. Pipe bombs or just a can of gasoline with the aid chain locked doors.
Be careful of what you wish for....
No, but they are dichin Fake News
Can People give up Liberalism the way they gave up Cigarettes?
Remember the good old days when Liberals wanted the Government out of their Lives instead of controlling them?
I wait with bated breath to see Hollywood ditch guns like they did with cigarettes.
Bated, I say. Bated.
You mean like, use rocks instead of guns for self defense? No. Only libs do things that flaming idiotic.
Can we ditch liberals the way we flush the toilet?
Thanks.
Yep; the leftist freedom haters are nothing if not predictable.
Just remember, lefties... There's no turning back once the Rubicon is passed.
WashCompost, while we are attack 2A, why not attack freedom of the press - and jail all liberal reporters, okay?
My mom might disagree. Many times would she sit down to cool off and smoked a cigarette when she wanted to kill my dad.

When did we ditch cigarettes? I see people smoking everywhere I go.
Armed citizens are an occupational hazard for criminals.
And tyrants.
I dont recall an amendment protecting my inherent right to smoke.
Why is the Washington Post always trying to shove their post up Americans rear?
