President Trump plans to cut off funding to the International Space Station by 2025. Many people do not even know there is an International Space Station, because it is so rarely in the news, but it has cost more than $100 billion to build and support.
What follows is a complete list of the most important discoveries of the space station over the past 20 years:

The space station is another example of welfare for NASA. It provides nothing to America, using taxpayer money to provide welfare for scientists and engineers to be tremendously unproductive.
NASA scientists see it differently. That's because they are addicted to space porn: any time an image or data comes from outer space, no matter how irrelevant, astronomers experience physical arousal. And unfortunately, they want us to pay for it. It's like paying for drug addicts.
We are always told that the space station is doing important work. Look, rats float in space! Screws rotate clockwise twice as often as they rotate counterclockwise! Why do they do that? We need to fund another space station for 20 years to find out!
The Trump administration in February proposed ending direct U.S. government support of the space station in 2025, prompting debate and discussion over whether commercial industry can make a business of building and operating orbiting research facilities staffed by astronauts.
Why is that relevant? If it's economical, they will do it; and if it's uneconomical, it won't get done. What's wrong with that?

“Strap some rockets to it and send it into orbit around the moon.”
Ben Bova did better than that.

Guess you missed the part where they identified novel virulence genes in microbes and identified potential new therapeutic targets for both spaceflight and for folks on the ground. Probably not important though, right? Look, I just identified that which you said didn’t exist. Plugging your ears and closing your eyes will not change reality.
Seriously, Trump the Hotel magnate should know that if you attached a number of rooms and got a viewing deck you could treat it like a hotel in space and charge $100,000 a night to stay there! (Ferry service to earth not included!) 15 berths—they do not have to be luxury—$1.5 million a night, $540 million per year.
:-)
Why dismantle it? Just do a controlled reentry into CNN’s HQ.
“let private business take it over.”
Wasn’t that the genesis of the movie Alien?
Look at your own reply
identified **potential** new therapeutic targets
call me when something comes of it - maybe just a few billion more, eh?
We can debate if NASA is worth the money spent on it, but lets do a little digging before we have the debate. NASA Spinoffs
I think the original life estimate on the ISS was 2020 but was extended to 2024 in 2014. Cutting funding off at 2025 isnt exactly unexpected.
I remember “Space Station Freedom” quite well. I did mechanical engineer support on the conceptual design in the early ‘90s, and still have a CAD rendering in my office.
Hahahah... unless you are billionaire the amount of “your” taxes that have gone to NASA in your lifetime probably doesn’t even add up to a dime.. Depending on your tax bracket the auto rounding to dollars on the tax forms have probably refunded that to you a few times over in your lifetime.
That is still probably less than the foreign aid that we give out every year, and definitely less than the pallets of cash we gave to Iran in one shot.
It is about time to stop that farce.
No matter if it's just a penny, it's still my money.
How much of your tax dollars goes to Planned Parenthood? Is that okay with you even it's less than a dime?
Plenty has already come of it, but whatever pal. You go right on with your religious beliefs. Obviously no amount of evidence will ever be good enough for you.
You hate NASA that much that you compare it to Planned Parenthood? Are you kidding me? There’s no moral equivalency there whatsoever! Get off the internet and stop using computers, you don’t deserve the technology.
No.
Now that you've had your say, do not reply to me again.
