White people can be exhausting.
Its work to be the only person of color in an organization, bearing the weight of all your white co-workers questions about Blackness.
Its work to always be hypervisible because of your skin easily identified as being present or absent but for your needs to be completely invisible to those around you.
Its work to do the emotional labor of pointing out problematic racist thinking, policies, action and statements while desperately trying to avoid bitterness and cynicism.
Quite frankly, the work isnt just tedious. It can be dangerous for Black women to attempt to carve out space for themselves their perspective, their gifts, their skills, their education, their experiences in places that havent examined the prevailing assumption of white culture. The danger of letting whiteness walk off with our joy, our peace, our sense of dignity and self-love, is ever present. As a black woman working in white spaces, my perception of racial dynamics has been questioned, minimized, or denied altogether.
These words are from Austin Channing Browns new book, I'm Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness, released this week.

I have known a few people that visited Africa and couldn’t wait to return. They quickly became aware of being American, instead of Black.
They mistake competency and success as oppression, a logical result of assuming that it is a zero sum world and everyone is equally able/interchangeable.
So if one group is disproportionately successful / able, it is only explained as racist oppression excluding others.
Who wrote this drivel?
I’m exhausted by Blacks making our cities death traps.
Except that sounds like the white females and multi-sexuals who are running the universities.
Hence the term “whigger”.
Many Blacks are obsessed with their own race. Narcissism goes hand in hand with this.
The problem is actually deeper than that. In the name of equity and fairness, there are companies PAYING HR people to teach and spew such racist views.

This liberal racism is being taught at universities. Note that this debate was on renewable energy, and the black debater resorted to “you’re white, you’re racist, prove you’re not racist by killing yourself”. And no one condemned the liberal bully for this tirade.

Its close to Resegregation time
Hard to be dignified when you’re ducking bullets in South Chicago.
>>What I have seen is mandatory diversity training where the sanctioned liberal bully gets to call everyone else out on being inherently bad unless you self-flagellate and denounce your privilege. <<
I remember that. They asked everyone in the room “what do you relate as?” I said “American” and my buddy said “Dutch.” The latina with an attitude “trainer” gave me the stink eye but stopped and said “What??” when he said it. Then he repeated it. It was pretty funny.
I worked for the State of California so had to go through all that crap once every couple of years.
Two time Obama voter Condoleezza Rice (Secretary of State) fixed it for ya
Hardest one I went through was being sent repeatedly to “diversity” training for reporting sexual harassment by a mentally ill man in pink (identified as a woman), and being punished for not going along with his delusion and subsequent sexist abuse of me. That was aside from them sometimes dealing with his issues like work interference and bad-mouthing me in front of customers.
He was the more exotic minority, so he was more morally correct. And not to be punished until proven that it affected customer service ...
In comparison, when a manager had made sexual remarks regarding me and my pregnant female mentor, nothing nearly as serious, the company nailed him to the wall.
Transgender privilege is a thing.
Well, it makes sense that a world made BY whiteness would be a world made FOR whiteness.
As many others have pointed out, there are countries made BY blacks, FOR blacks, lots of them. There are also countries made BY Asians, FOR Asians.
No one disputes the right of blacks or Asians to live in their own countries. made by and for them.
Why should white countries be different?
It appears that the “disadvantage” of being black is the excuse for every shortcoming in many black people. They never acknowledge their advantages, as in many decades of affirmative action (reverse discrimination) or the fact that blacks with good grades have a better chance of acceptance at major universities than whites with similar grades. Do a survey of TV commercials (I did) and you’ll find that blacks appear in about 80% of them although being about 13% of the population.
Austin, I’m sure white people would stay far away from you and shun you if they could. If she is shunned because of her incessant whining, I have no doubt she will start whining about that as well.
