SANTA FE, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities tell Eyewitness News that 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis was the gunman in the deadly shooting that unfolded Friday morning inside Santa Fe High School, killing 10 people and injuring 10 more.
Pagourtzis was arrested, and authorities say he is a student at the high school.
SOCIAL MEDIA His Facebook page also listed a possible interest in the United States Marines Corps, "starting in 2019." ABC News reached out to the Pentagon, and they said they do not have record of anyone with the last name Pagourtzis in Marine Corps.
Pagourtzis describes himself as an atheist for religious views, and "I hate politics" for political views. He also posted photos of himself, his gaming station setup, and t-shirts. He posted a photo on April 30, 2018 of a t-shirt that says "Born to Kill."
On the same day, he also posted a photo of a jacket with pins of various symbols (Communist party, Iron Cross, Rising Sun, baphomet, and Cthulhu).
FOOTBALL The Santa Fe Indians Freshman Football website lists a "Dimitrios Pagourtzis" with jersey #73, position DL with graduation year of 2019.
CHURCH The Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Galveston has posted photos of their "Galveston Nisiotes" - a Greek Dance Troupe performing at the Galveston Heritage Festival on its website. In one of the photos, a "Dimitri Pagourtzis" is listed in the photo caption. The suspect's mother's Facebook page also includes a similar photo of the same Greek dance troup.
WEAPONS USED Authorities say Pagourtzis was armed with a shotgun and a .38 revolver that belonged to his father. They believe those weapons were legally owned by his father.
Journals, a computer and cell phone recovered during the investigation suggested that not only did Pagourtzis intend to carry out the shooting, but he planned to commit suicide afterward, authorities say. He did not attempt to kill himself, but instead, surrendered to police.
CHARGES Pagourtzis has been booked into the Galveston County Jail on a charge of capital murder. He is being held without bond.
Due to his age, if convicted, Pagourtzis would not be eligible for the death penalty. During their investigation, authorities obtained warrants to search two homes. They found various explosive devices in a home and vehicle, as well as on the school's campus.
They are urging the community to be on the lookout for suspicious items and to report anything unusual to 911.
Now this article says a shotgun and a pistol. Other articles have included the Left’s demonized AR-15. Does anyone know for sure?
Sanity?
Well back in the days of the old west, there wasn’t violent video games, violent movies, or violent music that target kids.
Same as every single one of the male teenage shooters: SSRI’s. No secret.
Nor strident atheism.
They want to raise the age to 21?
That’s fine as long as they raise the age to drive and vote to 21 too.
What I know is that I've been watching the local coverage all day and there hasn't been ANY reporting on this kid's parents, other than what's on their Facebook pages and that the gun belonged to the father.
What's up with that? Why has the local media been silent on even questioning where the parents are? The parents have been silent, there has been no family statement so far.

Hand out School Vouchers to any child who wishes to find a safe school.
Lower age to 10 years to buy a weapon, since adult are unsafe.
Probably anti-anxiety? SSRI? Got to be something. Everybody seems to forget this aspect, very common to mass shootings and suicides.
Father owns North American Marine. Mother lives in a trailer.
Cops were searching two homes miles apart so I'd guess mom and dad didn't work out.
Father is a Greek immigrant.
Dad probably knows that if the kid used his guns, he’s going to get sued into oblivion.
.....What I read is a very lapsed Orthodox Christian or a “cultural Greek Orthodox”....
What you REALLY mean is a “cultural Greek”—NOT an Orthodox Christian of any kind except a former/lapsed one!!!!
Unfortunately, our beloved Serbian Orthodox priest has been emphasizing Serbian culture and language before the Orthodox Christian faith lately. He may well be taking his cue from our also beloved Serbian Patriarch who is afraid that his American flock will lose the use of the Serbian language.
It is true that there are large sections of the Serbian Orthodox Church in certain parts of the US where most of the faithful have lost the Serbian language, or never had it in the first place. But it is the Orthodox Faith that saves us—not any particular culture!!
It is good, however, to support the Serbian people and the people of other predominantly Orthodox nations who are undergoing persecution and calumny, often perpetrated by Western elites!!
Meanwhile, this trench-coat wearing (a la Columbine) mass-murderer is in no way Orthodox Christian. If he had been imbued with the Orthodox Faith, he almost certainly would never have embarked on his murderous spree!!!! This is despite the sorts of propaganda that I expect the professional Orthodox Christian haters to spew over the next several weeks!!
Typical American family, I guess. Eye-roll.
Yeah I was going to add that families/extended families were more stable and went to church.
Thanks NativeSon.
Belief in God...
That is the Problem.
The hopeless experience
Breeds heartless murderers.
They don’t “forget” it so much as bury it.
No one wants to admit what these very profitable poison quackeries do to people.
Yup.
I notice that Oliver North was the first to mention Ritalin and he is being ridiculed by the left! And now Illinois is moving to allow children to bring medical marijuana to school. Supposedly not to take, but then WHY?
