SANTA FE, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities tell Eyewitness News that 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis was the gunman in the deadly shooting that unfolded Friday morning inside Santa Fe High School, killing 10 people and injuring 10 more.
Pagourtzis was arrested, and authorities say he is a student at the high school.
SOCIAL MEDIA His Facebook page also listed a possible interest in the United States Marines Corps, "starting in 2019." ABC News reached out to the Pentagon, and they said they do not have record of anyone with the last name Pagourtzis in Marine Corps.
Pagourtzis describes himself as an atheist for religious views, and "I hate politics" for political views. He also posted photos of himself, his gaming station setup, and t-shirts. He posted a photo on April 30, 2018 of a t-shirt that says "Born to Kill."
On the same day, he also posted a photo of a jacket with pins of various symbols (Communist party, Iron Cross, Rising Sun, baphomet, and Cthulhu).
FOOTBALL The Santa Fe Indians Freshman Football website lists a "Dimitrios Pagourtzis" with jersey #73, position DL with graduation year of 2019.
CHURCH The Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Galveston has posted photos of their "Galveston Nisiotes" - a Greek Dance Troupe performing at the Galveston Heritage Festival on its website. In one of the photos, a "Dimitri Pagourtzis" is listed in the photo caption. The suspect's mother's Facebook page also includes a similar photo of the same Greek dance troup.
WEAPONS USED Authorities say Pagourtzis was armed with a shotgun and a .38 revolver that belonged to his father. They believe those weapons were legally owned by his father.
Journals, a computer and cell phone recovered during the investigation suggested that not only did Pagourtzis intend to carry out the shooting, but he planned to commit suicide afterward, authorities say. He did not attempt to kill himself, but instead, surrendered to police.
CHARGES Pagourtzis has been booked into the Galveston County Jail on a charge of capital murder. He is being held without bond.
Due to his age, if convicted, Pagourtzis would not be eligible for the death penalty. During their investigation, authorities obtained warrants to search two homes. They found various explosive devices in a home and vehicle, as well as on the school's campus.
They are urging the community to be on the lookout for suspicious items and to report anything unusual to 911.

What I read is a very lapsed Orthodox Christian or a "cultural Greek Orthodox"--attending Church functions more for Hellenic culture than for Christianity.
They have described the shotgun as 'sawed off' which would take the word 'legally' out of that claim.
No death penalty?
Well, he’ll never have to work a day in his life now, I’m sure.
I’m waiting to hear whether he was on any drugs, such as Ritalin.
Alienated sociopathic males, mostly white, and mostly suburban. If you are looking for what really ties them together, and I don’t want to sound like some bleeding heart liberal because I am anything but that, it is probably a lack of lap time. See when they went into daycare and how many years they spent in daycare before being shipped out to pre-k. There they were immersed in a world overwhelmingly hostile to boys, a matriarchy suitable for turning out Xulu warriors or sociopaths. After a dozen years in that environment what do you have? A kid who cannot relate or bond or cope.
On the same day, he also posted a photo of a jacket with pins of various symbols (Communist party, Iron Cross, Rising Sun, baphomet, and Cthulhu).
Under "social media" in the article:

I think most psychology majors study psych to understand why and how they are crazy.
School security basically never changed since Columbine.
So far, all the kid shooters have been on some kind of psych meds.
They’ve been outed here, every time.
But don’t tell anyone.
It’s bad press for big pharma.
It so happens that I posted this four days ago...
“There was a study about 25 years ago that looked at mass shootings including the McMassacre in this story, as to which weapons used caused the highest death rates. Not surprisingly shotguns were far above handguns and semi-auto rifles in fatality rates. The worst thing would be if these shooters switched form scary black rifles to pump shotguns.”
I predict the media won’t dwell on this as it did on Parkland and Sandy Hook, since it doesn’t fit their “ban the scary looking guns” narrative. It also shows the value of having someone with a gun on scene. Now if the media really wanted to help end these they would never show the perp’s picture and end the blanket coverage. These shooters do this for a kind of immortality.
It is not surprising that troubled adolescents who have no belief in God, have no moral compass and are capable of such acts. What is really troubling is that much of America has discarded religion and embraced neo pagan hedonistic debauchery. This will not be the last mass atrocity. The only practical deterrence will be teachers and other school personnel willing to carry concealed weapons. These shooters at their core are cowards and cower when confronted.
he is the evil spawn of the secularist orthodoxy
How exactly are the 99.999% of those who enjoy Lovecrsft's fiction without shooting someone doing that?
It might just be something like this:
Perfectly legal.
