Clapper: It’s ‘A Good Thing’ FBI Was Spying On Trump Campaign
Daily Caller ^ | 5/18/2018 | Julia Nista

Posted on 05/18/2018 10:11:02 AM PDT by ding_dong_daddy_from_dumas

Clapper admitted the FBI “may have had someone who was talking to them in the campaign,” referring to President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. He explained away the possibility of an FBI informant spying on the campaign as the bureau was trying to find out “what the Russians were doing to try to substantiate themselves in the campaign or influence or leverage it.”

Obama’s Director of National Intelligence then went on to say, “So, if there was someone that was observing that sort of thing, that’s a good thing.”

He also stated he believes “it’s hugely dangerous if someone like that is exposed because the danger to that person” and the potential “reluctance of others to be informants for the FBI” could possibly devastate the FBI

America is much closer to full banana republic status than almost anyone realizes

We have been for some time now - it's only been recently publicly verified. The question now is does it get fixed, or do we continue on this trajectory. Considering that one half of the politically active American public is cheering for a Soviet way of life and the other half is in opposition to it points to interesting times ahead.

These people think they’re above the law - because they ARE above the law.

THEY are the top law makers/enforcers in our country.

They have been able to commit felony after felony after felony... without ANY repercussions other than a few bad items on Fox news.

Hillary is still walking free.

Obama is still free.

Of course they feel empowered to admit their own crimes on national TV these days.

Excellent and worth a repeat!

“The spying on Flynn started in 2015, before Flynn was involved in any political campaign. That should worry every American, because if your current administration doesn’t like your way of thinking, you could be spied on, entrapped and God knows what else whenever they feel like it. Isn’t that the whole point of collecting every digital communication? The spying on Trump, specifically, began before he was likely to be the Republican nominee. Think about that a moment. Doesn’t that suggest the other 15 or so Republican candidates were spied on, too, and that all kinds of traps were being laid?”

The NYT is now pushing the notion that the FBI unfairly helped Trump by keeping this much needed investigation so quiet during the campaign.

Don’t any of them have lawyers?

They probably all have immunity already.

If they’d caught Bush people spying on Obama’s campaign, they wouldn’t even have got a trial, just strung them up. They might have had the MSM do a little show trial, communist style.

I’ve never felt the need to waste my money on any PPV but I’d pony up triple regular charges to see that-and I’d do it in a heartbeat!

What Clapper fails to mention is that they illegally leaked confidential info to the media to damage Trump.

That’s not national security, that is politics.

So this sounds like a pretty low bar to have to jump for future reference. Simply declare you suspect one side of doing something wrong and open up a spy operation on a campaign.

So with this logic, Trump can keep the DNC and Clinton Russian collusion in his hip pocket, and use that as an excuse to spy on them during the next election.

The Dems already agree with this, don’t they?

I’m afraid the media would have a different view, as would the professors and “experts.”

Aaaand, having anonymous, never to be named, ‘sources” is perfectly fine and anyone being railroaded by these sources needs to just roll over on the tracks because......”National Security”....
