Oh Yes...and I am doing more of my original music. People seem to really love a song I wrote called “The Mother Road”, about riding across the country on Rt 66.
If I actually DID that, I could probably meet up with a lot of FReepers.
The shorter the Spring, the more explosive the horde.
That's a thought ;)
ok, I’m signing off and starting on chores.
Have a safe and fun weekend.
Here are the lyrics c 1995:
The Mother Road
My girlfriend lives in Missouri
On the Outskirts of St. Lou
She fights the River every Spring
Like all her neighbors do
She’s been to Tahiti
And she loves to figure skate
She says I’ll always have a place to sleep
If I’m ever in her state.
CHORUS:
I’ll always have a place to stay
When I ride the Mother Road
At every stop along the way
I find an open door
My friends all think that I am crazy
But they love me anyway
And when I ride that Mother Road
I’ll always have a place to stay.
My cousin lives near Tulsa
Right off Rt 66
In the hometown of Will Rogers
In the Oklahoma Sticks
There ain’t no musical instrument
That the gal can’t play
She says I’ll always have a place to sleep
If I’m ever out that way.
CHORUS:
I’ll always have a place to stay
When I ride the Mother Road
At every stop along the way
I find an open door
My friends all think that I am crazy
But they love me anyway
And when I ride that Mother Road
I’ll always have a place to stay.
(Bridge)
Old motels on the auction block
Ancient symbols carved in the rock
Big Empty sky, except for a hawk,
Looks like somebody turned back the clock!
My uncle lives in Texas
And that’s music to my ears
He can trace his ancestors
Back to The Trail of Tears
He likes to sleep in the desert
And dance out under the stars
He says I’ll always have a place to sleep,
(If I ever get that far!)
CHORUS:
I’ll always have a place to stay
When I ride the Mother Road
At every stop along the way
I find an open door
My friends all think that I am crazy
But they love me anyway
And when I ride that Mother Road
I’ll always have a place to stay.
Oh, yeah. Alaska. No need for AC. LOL!

((HUGS))Good morning, Meg33. How’s it going?
Well, they aint gonna put you on the titty till yer tapped out and destitute LOL
Then they’ll pull the plug LOL
Sounds like a good list. I'll get started on it. Thanks!
My full retirement age is 66. I went to a couple seminars before reaching it and asked about having to apply if I was still employed full-time and had group insurance with my employer. It seems half the folks at the seminar had the same question. The answer is, NO! When I do retire I have 8 months "Special Enrollment Period" to apply for Medicare A and/or B without any penalties (they have penalties for everything!). I'm going to go ahead and enroll in A now as it doesn't cost me anything.
beachy.....#100!!
