An eruption from the Kilauea volcano's summit shot ash and smoke into the air early Thursday on Hawaii's Big Island, and the resulting plume is expected to cover the surrounding area, according to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. The volcanic cloud reached 30,000 feet, the US Geological Survey said. That's a little below the cruising altitude of a jetliner. "At any time, activity may again become more explosive, increasing the intensity of ash production and producing ballistic projectiles near the vent," the USGS said. "Ballistic projectiles may be produced should steam-driven explosions occur. Impacts will be limited to an area around Halemaumau." Halemaumau is the crater within Kilauea's summit caldera.
Nearby residents are being asked to shelter in place if they are in the path of the ash plume, which the wind is carrying to the northeast of the volcano, the USGS said. "Driving conditions may be dangerous so if you are driving pull off the road and wait until visibility improves," an alert from the observatory warned.

Are they out looking for a virgin to throw in the volcano?
Waiting for CNN, MSNBC,..... to say that Trump created this eruption to distract from his Stormy problems.
Has Mueller indicted Pele yet?
None around................................
Tom Hanks isn’t doing anything important.
“Joe vs The Volcano”
Were screwed. No virgins left.
Obama loves Hawaii. Maybe he's available?
So much for global warming.
In Hawaii? Maybe in Iowa, but in Hawaii?
Staying on topic, the danger now is the possibility this eruption could start seriously weakening the Hilina Slump, an area of land already cracking from the on-and-off eruptions of Kilauea and nearby new volcanic vents. Under the right circumstances, we could see a large portion of the Hilina Slump fall into the Pacific Ocean on the southeastern shore of the “Big Island,” and that could cause a massive tsunami that threatens much of the eastern Pacific Ocean coastline (particularly dangerous since there are no islands in the way before the tsunami hits the coast). The possibility of much of southern California—especially from Santa Barbara south to San Diego—being hit by a tsunami at least 60 feet high stops being far-fetched.

Great! Invite Pelosi, Brown and all the other kooks to a 3 day beach party just in case.
You’re not making me feel any better...
The home he bought on the Big Island is in the path of the lava flow and ash cloud.
He seems to think it is no problem but I'm not so sure.
All properties there can be had for pennies on the dollar.
