Activists filed a federal lawsuit Monday to block construction of the Obama Presidential Center on Chicago’s historic public parklands.
Protect Our Parks Inc. accused organizers of an “institutional bait and switch” by initially advertising the center as the 44th president’s official library.
“In August 2016, the City and the Park District publically announced that the Obama Presidential Library, promised to include all of the former President’s official records, would be built in Jackson Park,” the lawsuit reads. “Then, in May 2017, after the Defendants’ public announcement that a true ‘Presidential Library’ would be built, the Obamas did an about face on their commitment to a Presidential Library.”
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, also claims the transfer of public parklands to a private entity violates Park District Code.
“Defendants have chosen to deal with it in a classic Chicago political way, known as a short con shell game, a corrupt scheme to deceive and seemingly legitimize an illegal land grab, one that will endure for centuries to come, regardless of future changing public park needs and increasingly consequential environmental conditions,” the lawsuit reads.
Plaintiffs in the case are three Chicago residents, including the activist Charlotte Adelman. Defendants are the Chicago Park District and the City of Chicago.

This Charlotte Adelman along with Protect Our Parks, Inc. look like environmentalists trying to protect park lands in Chicago.
Once JB ‘Candy Man’ Prickster is made Governor of Ill-Annoy, and the high-rise Soetoro Lie-Berry is built in/near Chicago, we will likely see a “Center for Enlightened Progressive Thought” or some other Orwellian-named organization, which will likely be the epicenter for the Resistance-Anti-Trump Movement as promised by Prickster. Prickster will be hosting, and unapologetically promoting, Deep State sabotage against Trump.
Instead he got some Parkland conveyed "illegally". The aim was to make a better neighborhood at the same time.

I read that there will be no papers at all in the outhouse. It is all on computers.
I think it would not be too much out of line to put up an outhouse, neither would it be too expensive and take up much space. Put a few books in such as “Dreams from my Father”, “The audacity of hope” and “Change we can believe in” In addition we could put in some of the records of how many millions of taxpayers money was sent to his favorite terrorist sponsoring regime. Give this poor guy some kind of a break, at least he will have some kind of legacy and history will look kindly and forgivingly at his achievements. Then call it Obamas presidential library.
The organization which speaks for the Park District (an autonomous body) is probably run by libs. It should be noted that the District has always had enormous power within the Machine and has been used over and over again as a basis for political careers.
The District even a hundred years ago was powerful enough to build the original Soldiers Field so the Bears rent goes to the District.
That notwithstanding the Parks people (mainly volunteers) are fanatics about protecting the parks. This was a key element of “The Chicago Plan” which was produced by the Republican.

On general principles I object to a guy like Obama with all his problems expropriating land for his own glorification.
