Timeless recap: Bloodshed and betrayal in an explosive two-part season finale (SPOILER ALERT!)
by Devan Coggan
After an untimely cancellation and an unexpected resurrection in its freshman season, Timeless is taking no chances this time around. The time travel drama is closing out its stellar second season with a gutsy, guns-blazing finale that completely rewrites the rules and showcases how much this show has grown. Not only has Timeless ironed out some of its kinks and tightened up its mythology, but its also finally leaning into its strengths particularly its strong cast and time-period-of-the-week structure.

So where do we go from here? Sure, the show has killed off two of its major villains, Carol and Nicholas Keynes, but Emma and Jessica are still out there with the Mothership, and they both seem keen to continue Rittenhouses legacy. And now, with future Wyatt and Lucy here, theres a whole new world of opportunity for the team, from potentially resurrecting Rufus to taking down Rittenhouse for good. As season finales go, this one is a doozy. Heres hoping this isnt the end of the line for the Time Team.

Well, that second season just ended and I am still a viewer. However, they have created more bad parts without adding any more good parts.
Without making a long list of what they get wrong with their mostly liberal slant on history, my main gripe is that they just did away with any attempt on period costuming, just zooming into the past in modern day clothes and when they arrive at what ever date, they apparently steal proper attire of the era with the ease of my getting another beer from the fridge.
So, if the series is cancelled, I won't be sending in an e-mail to save it. However if it comes back, I'll still give it a watch.
Okay, anybody got their two-cents worth?

Stellar second season?
LOL. Hardly. It is struggling in the ratings, even worse than its premier season.
That episode last week of the gay life of one of the main characters turned off many viewers.
The story lines are iffy, as the travelers seem to do as much or more damage than they are trying to correct.
The series needs much better writing if it does get a 3rd season.
I’m still waiting for ABC to do a wrap up Episode of Vto bring it to a conclusion, as long as it doesn’t include Hot Air Balloons and dumping Red Powder all over the Earth.
When this show first aired, I was hopeful for a good series to watch. I didnt make it far into the first episode because thier far left bias made it unbearable for me.
My wife and I are running a little behind and just watched the suffragette episode.
Sure seems like at the very end, they were saying that the team’s interference got Trump elected.
I was actually surprised when, near the end of one episode, someone breathlessly asks, “Who is the President now?” and Agent Christopher answers, “Donald Trump,” there was a bit of a stunned silence and then Lucy says, “That wasn’t us.”
I expected a more derisive response. The way the scene was played, it actually was kind of funny.
What happened to them not being able to visit a timeline they had already been to? I guess in the future they figured out a way to break that rule AND spruce up their time ship.
I used to watch, overlooked the fact that the head woman has a “wife.” But when the black dude says flat, There is no God, and got no argument from his white girlfriend, that was the end for me. I love the concept but will not watch again.
Plus in the first episode this season, sweet Lucy murdered an American soldier in cold blood in WW 1. Not another mention was made of it, no remorse, nothing. Very hard for this retired soldier to take that as entertainment.
I think that I just read that it got the axe. Cant name the source.
After last weeks lesbian escapade I want it to cancel. Lecturing Indian or Hindu culture that lesby is the better way to go and blow off family tradition, deserves the big FAIL !
I was enjoying it till the last 2 episodes before the finale. Fist they took shots at Trump and the next week went full homosexual with an entire episode devoted to making sure a character stayed homosexual and highlighted the homosexual parts so much, I am about to give it up.
The next episode is a full on pro-homosexual episode that will leave you saying WTF over and over.
I just recently binge watched season one and season two up to the most recent episode. Season one was well written for the most part with good character development. I detected a significant drop off for season two.
That character IS homosexual, I wouldn’t want some poor dude to get stuck with a dyke wife.
It’s far from perfect but I still like it, my favorite bit is how history gets changed slightly, ie a new Bond movie (cast Lucy’s character for that!) and the Lincoln assassin being a great mystery to history.
I feel they talk/act too modern when going back in time, I don’t recall it being so blatant in season 1.
I heard it was a cliffhanger but I wasn’t expecting THAT. I hope it doesn’t end that way.
SpecOps guys are embarrassed by Wyatt. He gets his ass kicked in every fight. Oh and his shooting sucks.
The best thing that could happen with this series is that it gets cancelled by NBC and picked up by NetFlix. I have greater confidence in their production capabilities to make it work.
