Yesterday First Lady Melania Trump introduced her new initiative "Be Best," with a goal of promoting healthy behaviors and ending cyber bullying among children.
"There is one goal to Be Best and that is to educate children about the many issues they are facing today. If we truly listen to what our kids have to say, whether it be their concerns or ideas, adults can provide them the support and tools they need to grow up to be happy and productive adults who contribute positively to society and their global communities," Mrs. Trump said during a Rose Garden ceremony. "There are too many critical issues facing children today, so the three main pillars of Be Best will include wellbeing, social media use, and opioid abuse."
"Together, I believe we should strive to provide kids with the tools they need to cultivate their social and emotional health," she continued. "We can and should teach children the importance of social and self-awareness, positive relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Once a child understands these vital skills, they will be able to communicate openly with one another and instill positive feelings of mutual respect, compassion, and self-esteem."
While discussing the initiative and President Trump's own shortcomings on behavior Monday night, CNN contributor and White House correspondent April Ryan argued Mrs. Trump isn't "culturally American."
"There are a lot of realities that she is dealing with. This is a First Lady who is not culturally American but she is learning the ways," Ryan said.
Mrs. Trump has been an American citizen since 2006. She became a permanent resident in 2001.
H/T: Thanks to the Washington Free Beacon for grabbing the video.
She is taking a hit right now, because the media constantly plays up the Stormy Daniels situation. This is the same media that ho hummed through rape and assault charges against President Clinton.
Rape is not a consenting situation. Assault isn’t either. None the less, to our media, Trump is the big story and Clinton wasn’t.
Over and over they played it up like we were being mean to Hillary Clinton. I haven’t read one article yet lamenting the scandal confronting Melania.
She is handling all of it with extreme good taste. She has chosen not to make a big deal out of it, taking a pass on damning the President in public, or even a hint at taking marital court action.
She is a classy person. Dealt an unfortunate hand, she is content to come off as a solid moral person herself. It’s not without notice.
I don’t have to voice my thoughts on the President and his actions. Real men know what is proper and what isn’t. We don’t have to take a stand and a bow for being moral.
We simply urge our president to show equal class with Melania. We urge it for them, their family, the nation, and the impact on international relations, that benefit everyone.
I stand firmly behind Donald Trump, his foibles and all.
If Melania can, I certainly can.
When the time comes, I want her honored for the Class A First Lady she has become for us.
Wow. Amazing...
She is far more AMERICAN than many living here, in this nation, who believe in calling themselves “AMERICANS”
Unlike others, she loves this country and its people. She displays this every day by voice and actions. Seriously doubt we would ever hear these words coming from HER mouth:
“All this for a damn flag.”
In other words, she feels our pain when we hurt. She rejoices when we are victorious. That makes her a true AMERICAN.
” I dont fault Trump from marrying her, but calling her American is over the top and not right.”
You should be ashamed to have made that statement!
She is a classy person. Dealt an unfortunate hand,
This whole Daniels thing is a farce. She's out for bucks, nothing else. Trump haters tried to get their shots in about her moving out when this first broke and it came up again in the last few days, all ridiculous lies.
When the time comes, I want her honored for the Class A First Lady she has become for us.
Melania Trump is Class A and always will be. Without a doubt she'll be honored as a great First lady.
I couldn’t agree more.
Our First Lady is a class act unlike some on this forum that radiate pettiness.
Bump!
That photo should have been preceded by a warning! Yikes!!
I must have overlooked that part of the Constitution regarding country of birth for First Ladies... I mean after all, if a native born Kenyan can be president who is keeping score??????
Right you are, V. K. A quiet but expressive dignity about this woman. Any nation would be proud to have her as their First Lady.
But I like the way you put it... she is responsive to the feelings of average everyday people.
Smack down. Well done.
