Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said Monday it's ridiculous" that Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., reportedly does not want President Donald Trump to attend his funeral, and hopes the war hero has a change of heart.
"I think it's ridiculous," Hatch told Politico. "Well, he's the president of the United States and he's a very good man. But it's up to [McCain]. I think John should have his own wishes fulfilled with regard to who attends the funeral."
McCains closest family members reportedly informed the White House that the current plan is for the funeral to be held at Washingtons National Cathedral, and Vice President Mike Pence to attend but not Trump, according to The New York Times.
McCain has been battling an aggressive form of brain cancer for more than a year.
Former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama have reportedly been asked to deliver eulogies at McCain's service.

That is what I was thinking ...
Gotta say, I would be a little freaked out by all of this. It’s like scoring a ticket to the McCain funeral is
tantamount to getting a much-coveted ticket to the prom.
He’s not even dead yet! (or is he? Time to spend a weekend with them?)...

All I can say is, “let’s get this show on the road!”
If you have to send INVITES to your funeral...seems you fear no one will show up (or at least not the people YOU want there).
I can’t listen to her talk show. She’s too infatuated with Hollywood.
Some kind of douchebag who is a legend in his own mind.
One could make a movie!
The Lord “delivered us” from two pathetic ex-presidents. ( and I used to love George Bush).
I'd rather p1ss in his coffin! But it would probably be a long wait in line.
I have this thing about funerals. I hate the viewings and large attendance with lots of rambling, glowing speakers. I usually just don’t attend those and will usually tell people why.
Funerals are for the living. The dead don’t care anymore.
I just want to know where he’s buried, so’s I can “visit” after I’ve had a six-pack of burritos and a 12-pack of beer...
"dingdongtraitorsdead" fits nicely as a keyword...
I appreciate Senator Orin Hatch even when I don’t always agree with him. He has shown good sense in this case and has always been a good man while McCain has not.
By publicly asking Trump not to come, McCain has ensured the media will talk about Trump instead of McCain on the day of his funeral.
Excellent. Obama will suck there air out of the whole service.
I,I,I,I,I,Me,Me,Me,Me,..................
If he is going to have Obama, why not have his jailers from the Hanoi Hilton along with the Soviet Interrogators of Vietnam POWs attend as well.
Mc Cain is without question a true war hero, but his recent positions are totally part of the Washington swamp. Let Trump not attend his funeral...it will be news only in the hate Trump media. The talking heads at CNN will spew spittle and rend their garments and most of the country wont give a rats posterior.
Sure does and hopefully we can use this in the future when the likes of Obama, Hillary, Comey, etc meet their makers at the steps of the gallows.
Who cares! Let’s just get on with this show. There is nothing that says he has to be 100% dead before we can proceed!
Enroll them all in the Spandau Ballet.
I rarely watch Laura but when changing channels I caught some of the McCain worship too. I have stopped watching and of FOX prime time and only watch Dobbs now and occasionally watch Hannity to see if he is still repeating the same talking points.
