We have friends who farm hundreds of acres in central southern IL. It is a whole ‘nother world down there!
They are very Conservative, Christian, Trump voters, awesome hunters (Black Bear, Whitetail Deer, Elk, etc.) and they’d be the LAST Americans that would give up their guns. :)
Illinois is redder than red except for the Chicago/Cook county septic fields and a handful of black/college town/union shits/ counties.
I knew and worked with a young Preacher from Southern Illinois. This was at a Summer retreat in the Western Carolina Mountains.
I talked to him a bit about the area and became convinced that it was about as conservative as anyplace. Too bad it is controlled by the Chicago area.
As an aside, he had a young Sister-in-Law who may have been the prettiest girl I ever saw.
