Connecticut’s legislature has passed a bill that would give the state’s Electoral College votes to the presidential candidate who wins the popular vote nationally.
The state Senate voted 21-14 on Saturday to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, which includes 10 states and the District of Columbia. The state House passed the measure last week, 77 to 73.
The compact requires its members to cast their Electoral College ballots for the presidential candidate who wins the national popular vote. The agreement goes into effect once states representing at least 270 electoral votes — the number needed for a candidate to win the presidency — signs the compact.
Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy (D) has promised to sign the legislation committing his state to the interstate agreement. Once he does so, the compact will have 172 electoral votes. California, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington and the District of Columbia have already signed the accord.

Can the Constitution be changed in this fashion? The Electoral College is part of the Constitution - doesn’t it need an amendment to be changed?

Yeah, if the winner of the popular vote is a democrat, if not then they’ll stick to Electoral College tradition.

No. It doesn’t take effect until enough states to give 270 votes signs on, and the Democrats can find trunks full of ballots in every blue state. If they can get the 270, it is a game-changer, negating the EC and allowing the fraudulent over-vote in blue states to overwhelm the legality of red state voters.

regardless of politics, there’s obviously zero reason for any citizens of Connecticut to bother voting anymore...since their own state’s electors will be determined by people who, mostly, have never even been to Connecticut and probably never will even visit the place.
Why not just let SorozNazi assign the electors he wants for Connecticut and be done with it? I mean, since now Connecticut voters will have essentially NO SAY WHATSOEVER in Presidential elections anymore... they’re Disenfranchised just like black people were (by the same D party) in the Southern States prior to the war of the 1860’s
To get the 270 they’d have to get some red states to flip. Don’t see that happening.

Just another form of incrementalism/power creep that will somehow magically become legal, despite that it's blatantly illegal. Tampering with the EC is NOT a 10th amendment right.
