Global tourism accounts for 8% of total worldwide greenhouse gas emissions, four times more than previously believed, new research says. Some gases, including carbon dioxide and methane, trap heat in the atmosphere, producing a "greenhouse effect," and so make the planet warmer. The amount of greenhouse gases released by a particular activity is referred to as its "carbon footprint." The increasing carbon footprint of global tourism between 2009 and 2013 represents a 3% annual growth in emissions, according to University of Sydney researchers.
Their paper was published Monday in the journal Nature Climate Change.

Ruh Roh! More 'poof' that we are on track to exceed 'See Uh O 2' levels not seen in 800,000 years. Or something. Maybe someone should dispatch UN climate ambassadors to investigate this situation. Is leo duhcrapio busy this week? Time to end leisure travel obviously.

All made up BS.
CO2 is not a dangerous pollutant and has little effect on the temperature.
To solve the “Gore-Bull Warming problem”, all that is required is for everyone who believes CO2 is dangerous to stop exhaling CO2.

I go on an average of two international vacations per year. Went to Thailand in January, England in a few weeks. I normally fly business class, which supposedly triples my carbon footprint.
I feel so guilty.....not!

That would guarantee that this action WILL solve the problem & at no cost to the rest of us.

The solution is obvious. Fly 20,000 ‘experts’ to South America to discuss this problem further.

When I take my many weekend excursions, I use about 120 gallons of fuel for fun!!! About 10 times a year.
But when I work I use about 60 to 70 gallons a day!

When I see Gore, enviro-glitterati jet-setters Meryl Streep, Leonardo DeCaprio, Ben Afflick, Alec Baldwin, Natalie Portman, Daryl Hannah, Brad Pitt, the relevant bureaucrats at the UN and the whole membership of the IPCC --- plus Pope Francis --- renounce air travel...
I won't believe they really believe it.

I thought all those jet setters who go to global warming conferences buy carbon credits?

For the past few days Pele has devastated the earth’s O 2 levels for a least 10 years. All the Paris Accords went up as gas, smoke and ashes this week on the Big Island of Hawaii. Since the mid 80’s Kilauea has done more to damage the environment than all the man made sources in history.

“Al Gore has said he lives a carbon neutral life.”
Sure. He takes his carbon credit money out of one pocket, and puts it in the other.

Time for all the Gorebullists to fly down to Australia and have a serious meeting about this.

How can sitting one place on an airplane versus another "triple" your so-called "carbon footprint?" Because I "use up" three times the space. If you bought every seat on the plane and flew alone, you'd have 300 times the carbon footprint as someone flying coach, instead of it being divided among 299 other people.

Their policy no doubt will destroy the Service industry and poorer nations surviving on tourism.
Of course a Marxist pimp never wants the poor kids to get ahead but to beg for them for ever on the streets, so a little leg breaking goes a long way
