In a move likely related to the pending release of the inspect general's report on the DOJ and FBI, the two top lawyers who served James Comey suddenly decided to find paychecks from other sources and have left their jobs at the FBI.
There are more mysteries than facts available on the move at this time. The P.R. spin is that both "resigned," but that could well mask an ultimatum to resign or be fired.

An FBI official says the bureau is not working to collect messages between anti-Trump FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, despite the request to do so from a top Republican senator as well as evidence suggesting they communicated about “work-related” matters on non-FBI accounts.

“Sinking FBI ship” is exactly right. The FBI has been outed as a political organization, specifically a Democrat organization. FBI investigations and FBI testimony just lost much of their former credibility.

There’a a history. People with their background get partnerships in the big multinational law/lobbying firms at several million per year.
Don’t be fooled. A lot of those senior jobs in places like the FBI and DOJ turn over with any new agency head, not just when the presidential administration switches parties. Law/lobbyist job offers are just too good to pass up once their bureaucrat careers are interrupted at all.
