On 1 May, Tucker Carlson of Fox News Channel interviewed retired Colonel Douglas Macgregor on Fox News about Irans relations with the U.S.
Macgregor endorsed the horribly flawed Iran nuclear deal and essentially inferred that the U.S. is but a puppet for Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Disappointingly, Carlson made no effort to challenge Macgregors statements and contributed with some straw man arguments of his own that appeared to back up what Macgregor was saying.
The straw men start to appear at the :45 mark of the 5 minute video below when Carlson asks the question of Macgregor, Is it in our strategic interests to have a conflict with Iran?
This implies that the only choice is between accepting the flawed Iran nuclear deal or going to war.
Carlson then essentially accuses U.S. U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley of calling for war with Iran, something that she never said. Carlson goes on with this line of reasoning by claiming that many Republicans in Congress and a lot of Democrats believe that it is essential that the United States goes to war with Iran.

Can’t watch Tucker, his “theme” blaring music is like nails on a chalk board.
Disappointing when someone of Tuckers visibility goes off script like that.
No, he did not. He implied that the U.S. is but a puppet for Israel and Saudi Arabia.
The speaker implies, the listener infers.
We been “in conflict with Iran” since 1979. Unfortunately Iran is the only one fighting it. We would rather pretend.
He may have inferred it before he implied it.
[ The speaker implies, the listener infers. ]
Good to learn.

Mark Steyn continues to be the only reason I check out Tucker’s program.
I’m disappointed in Tucker and can’t stomach the looney libs he repeatedly has on to walk all over him.
I can’t watch him either.
I find something else to watch.
“...can’t stomach the looney libs he repeatedly has on to walk all over him...”
That is the same reason we quit watching Tucker - the libs he brings on use his show as a platform for their talking points and he does not adequately refute them.
many Republicans in Congress and a lot of Democrats believe that it is essential that the United States goes to war with Iran.
Well this is a true statement if ever there was one. Of course ‘many Republicans in Congress’ and (more than) a lot of Democrats’ want it. These rotten sobs make money off of it. Aren’t there banks that fund BOTH sides and tell these little pos(s) to start up a war so they can make some money?
What a racket!
Bingo. We should have kicked some Persian @ss years ago. Think ‘Rolling Thunder’.
“That is the same reason we quit watching Tucker - the libs he brings on use his show as a platform for their talking points and he does not adequately refute them”.
Exactly! Steyn would be a good replacement for Tucker. Tucker belongs on a panel.
Tucker’s coming from the Pat Buchanan point of view - anti-Israel.
There are some bad feelings in the military about Israel due to the USS Liberty incident in ‘67.
I ran into one retired Navel officer in Colorado who I thought was fairly nuts on his comments about Israel.
I can somewhat understand it as Friendly Fire accidents are not uncommon.
Still, if you are going to spy on our friends in the middle of a war, you might want to tell them you are there.
Tucker let’s people with talking points run all over him. I miss Bill O’Reilly.
It’s just a show and Tucker can’t be expected to be up on every topic. I’d give him some slack. If the info is wrong, we will eventually find out.
The Factor is NOT on.
Too bad, I liked that show.
