Black male support for President Donald Trump doubled in just one week, according to a Reuters poll on presidential approval.
A poll taken on April 22, 2018 had Trumps approval rating among black men at 11 percent, while the same poll on April 29, 2018 pegged the approval rating at 22 percent. It should be noted that Reuters only sampled slightly under 200 black males each week and slightly under 3,000 people overall.
Trump experienced a similar jump in approval among black people overall, spiking from 8.9 percent on April 22 to 16.5 percent on April 29.
Black males were also far more likely to say that they had mixed feelings about the president. On the 22nd, 1.5 percent said they had mixed feelings, while 7.1 percent said the same on the 29th.
The results are interesting given the recent transformation of Kanye West, who posted a picture of himself wearing a Make America Great Again hat on his Twitter account last week.
Black men (and women) want the same thing as any other American: safety, the dignity of work, and family. Trump is trying to turn the USS America back on course, and hes doing a fine job.
Kanye is simply pointing out to the black community what weve been saying for years: Democrats are the party of hand outs and social welfare while Republicans are the party of hand ups and social responsibility. Democrats have done nothing to help blacks in this country. Its about time the black community recognizes this.
and BTW, MLK was a R.
If true, Dems just gotta be shaking in their boots and peeing in their pants ...
As a famous former reggae star, who was by no means conservative, sang "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery..."
The democrat-liberal-progressive thought plantation is very powerful.
A significant portion of the white vote also votes Democrat because they have been taught that voting Republican is “racist.” They can’t afford to lose that vote either. And with more candidates like John James in Michigan running for office, that is going to pose additional problems for the Democrats, assuming our party apparatus is smart enough to see that and back more candidates like John James - he is a viable candidate that could make a huge difference for the future of the party.
He’s a rapper...you remember the guy who blasted President George W. Bush during the Katrina telethon that he “doesn’t care about black people”? That was him. He has now recently apologized for those comments.
A wondrous and amazing thread!
Same here. One in particular is a longtime friend, a conservative Republican, very pro-Life, and elected to public office three times.
I think black men might finally be waking up to the fact that they have more in common with conservatives than they do with white liberals. And even perhaps have more in common with white conservative men than with black liberal females, if you can wrap your head around that.
Democrats have a long sordid history of doing everything possible to destroy the souls, the manhood, the dignity of black men. And of course it's been against all blacks in general, but most particularly against black men.
In particular, four eras come to mind:
Black men bore the brunt of the vilification, I'd guess by a factor of 10-to-1 over what black females bore. Slovenly, thieving, mind-numbingly stupid, lying, scared of most animals and of their own shadows, voices pitched far higher than an average female voice, scared of anything remotely looking like a ghost - eg a wind-stirred sheet.
And in some ways worst of all - totally dominated by their wives & mothers, portrayed by large black female actresses who chased them around with frying pans or wooden spoons while they begged for mercy. Black male actors adept at making their eyeballs seemingly bulge out of their sockets were always in demand in Hollywood.
Just when the Voting Rights Act and similar laws seemed to be removing the last chains holding black men down, LBJ and his Democrat Congress forged new chains of the worst kind ... the kind that you convince people to put on themselves ---- the Great Society programs - Welfare, Food Stamps, Free Government-built (and then abandoned) Housing, free Medical Services, etc.
Federal workers walked up & down the streets of Black neighborhoods, which at the time were Working-Class neighborhoods .... but not for long. While the men were away at work supporting their families, their wives answered the doors and were told that women with children were eligible for a huge payout. And the more children, the more $$$.
But there was a catch: If they were supported by a husband or boyfriend, they were ineligible. This more than anything is what destroyed the nuclear black family. Their families had withstood a century of Jim Crow attacks and stayed together. But LBJ's Democrats finally split them up by attacking them from within, by driving a giant wedge between black men and women.
With her standard welfare payout, plus the "Aid to Dependent Children" times 3 or 4 kids, she could haul in far more than her minimum-wage husband. So, who needed a working man around the house to support you anyway, when his presence was a net economic hit to your finances? And guess whose name was on the check from Uncle Sam?
The Great Society's net effect of creating a Matriarchy, combined with a lifelong diet of the entertainment industry's portrayal of strong-willed black females vs spineless black males, combined to induce far too many black women to disrespect black men.
I never fully realized this until reading an article in the 90s (I think ... I've tried googling but no luck) about a black female columnist for a major paper or magazine, who was gobstruck by the overwhelming national outpouring she received to what she had thought was yet another typical, every-day column, that she happened to write one Valentine's Day.
In her column, she said she wanted to take the occasion on this holiday to say a big thank-you of appreciation to all the black men in her life - her father, grandfathers, uncles, husband (or BF), teachers & other mentors. She wanted to honor them for their examples, their love, and their contributions to making her the successful woman she was today.
Over many ensuing months, truckloads of flowers, letters, cards, chocolates and so on, passed through the receiving doors of the publication she worked at, coming from thousands of black males of all ages and marital status, all over America. The sheer spontaneity of this reaction in the pre-social-media era was something to behold.
I would've assumed that a column like that was a typical run-of-the-mill type of column that one would *expect* on a Valentine's Day. But reading of the national reaction to it really struck me with the awful truth that this simple message from a woman of their race was a message that they had NEVER FREAKING HEARD BEFORE! And that is so very sad.
For more on the Hollywood aspect of black male emasculation, see the middle section (13min:45sec to 35min:55sec) of this 1968 documentary --- Black History. Lost, Stolen, or Strayed? (I setup the link to start at 13:45)
Overall, the middle 22 minutes are a great history lesson in just how thoroughly Hollywood can destroy the reputations of any group of people they choose to target (whether blacks pre-60s, or Christians & Republicans post-60s), although I have a few problems with the film, such as the fact they hired Bill Cosby as narrator, and that kind of distracts from the message. Also, some hip mid-60s lingo such as substituting "some cat" for "some man".
Also, being creatures of Hollywood themselves, the writers want to *not* come down too hard on their industry, while at the same time showing how vicious Hollywood really had been. So they try to balance these conflicting goals by claiming in multiple places that this was really a case of "Hollywood just reflecting what society already believed," or "Hollywood giving people exactly what they are asking for," so the nasty messages are really not Hollywood's fault after all, but the fault of the moviegoing audience. (You sense they don't really believe this, and are just paying lip-service to Hollywood's old saw of "Just reflecting the culture! Just a mirror! That's all we are!")
But these shortcomings shouldn't hinder anyone from viewing these egregious examples of Hollywood's sordid past, because it illuminates Hollywood's sordid present, where nothing has changed except for the target of their hatred, fears, condescension, blood-libels and ridicule.
I dont mean this demeaning but black culture likes the crafty loud voice of the group
Ive spent years of time in Africa and Haiti
The Hoogan or Shaman or colloquially the witch doctor...
Not bone in nose and boiling kettle charictature but the story teller often with powers Jim Morrison wished hed had
The soothsayer or oracle in European sagas
Sub tropical African culture lends a lot of weight to that sans written history for example
Someone who can rhyme and talk good gets credence ...no question
Kanye does that
Any help we can get Im happy for it
No question black culture likes someone who can talk a good game from tribal oral traditions talker to a black preacher giving a three hour sermon...which they do
This is what white libtards try to do clumsily at black churches
Think Hillary or Gore....whereas Slick Willie had it mastered and was respected by them for it
Kanye has that speaking a good game talent and gives acceptability for other blacks to step forward....its acceptable now
Another little secret....without talking black Trump has the same talent and blacks respect him for it...trust me...even if they disagree with his bootstraps talk
Dont doubt me
Just like when a brave Jew steps up on our side...
Im more than happy to welcome Kanye
Balls
And the death threats to him are real....hope he has Roland types around him armed
I lived in Oakland for 11 years...many of those as the one whitey in my immediate hood LOL. Most people who are AMERICANS can agree to disagree.
11 years and I can count on one hand how many “racial” things I had in those neighborhoods.
Haven’t been back in a while, but I’m pretty sure I could still hang with the old school Oakland, not so much the brain-dead Obama punks.
Bottom line is that nobody likes to be BSed; I hope Kanye wakes up the “new school”.
And yes, those death threats against him are VERY real. Never thought I’d think about let alone pray for Kanye West, but I have been doing both.
Indeed
Crips kill
100s and counting
Yes, and now the brilliant Candace Owens! I want to see much more of Candace out in the media. She was on FNC quite a bit last week. Hope it continues...
Enjoyed your knowlegable review.
Amen!
The taste of freedom is very powerful.
The knowledge that freedom is worth dying for is both liberating and empowering, and the foundation for happiness. The day I realized that changed me forever.
