The fact that VA has waited for more than two years to properly address this, I think underscores leadership failure at the highest levels.
Dr. Head says he and others reported the fly problem but he says instead of addressing it, the VA suspended one doctor and he says they retaliated against him as well.
I believe theres a culture in the Veterans Administration that punishes people who are willing to come forward.

And notice how big & luxurious the building looks. That's what they do today. But they neglect traditional basic hygiene.
Shut it down. Fire everybody. Issue vouchers. The care will improve and the savings will be massive.
FLies?
Flies are only attracted if there is some putrid material there............................
If Trump could fire every administrator at the hospital, it might get their attention.
But they neglect traditional basic hygiene....The people they hire are lazy, ignorant of hygiene and busy on their cell phones.
I’ve worked in dozens of operating rooms across the country.
Flies get in somehow. There are many levels of protection from double doors with powerful fans to bug zappers but they get in.
When one is sighted every person becomes a swat team member.
This is probably an overblown finding by the media.
I would hope any operating room would have filtered positive air pressure to make sure any dust and airborne pathogens are blown out or the room. This sounds like a severe problem.
Thank God nobody was put in charge of the VA who might create a hostile work environment. That could shake things up.
Why do we have veterans hospitals? They should be able to go to any hospital and get the care they need.
I know of a man who died from the hospital environment itself. He was exposed to some bacteria and he was dead within days.
Its a Soviet-style structure, minus the coherence of the one-party state. Instead, VA answers to 535 members of Congress, their episodically disgruntled constituents and a plethora of veterans lobbies, whose raison detre is linked to the existence of a large VA bureaucracy and whose political power is impossible to overstate, as former George W. Bush administration domestic policy aide Yuval Levin noted in a revealing National Review article at the height of last years scandal.
More people die of C-DIFF than car wrecks. All preventable. But, that might make us question authority.
But By God, if one American gets a scary sounding 3rd World virus, the whole country panics.
Oh....good thing Tester & the Marxist Dems shut down Dr Ronny Jackson.
Can’t have any of this mess and filthy conditions, for our dear vets, being cleaned up.
EVERY DEM SHOULD BE KICKED TO THE CURB, over this.
I suspect you're right. I've had good service from the V.A.
Trump's fault!!
Hospitals are full of germs. They are full of sick people.
Hospital acquired infections are a big deal. But, flies are a fact of life and I’ve seen roaches and rats and even lizards on walls. In the days before air conditioning surgery was often done outdoors and A/C helps keep OR’s cold so germs don’t reproduce as fast.
The clean rooms in electronics manufacturing plants are far cleaner than OR’s because dust can fry a microchips.
One of the worst places one can go when sick is a hospital...
