A friend of mine whose mother died recently was going through her parents memorabilia and unearthed a Western Union telegram from 1954 that her father sent her mother just before they married. Heres what it said:
Darling, I shall be waiting for you at eight. With a lifetime of expectancy. My heart will be coming with you down the aisle. May God be with us tonight as we pray we will always be with Him. Thank you for becoming my wife. My love forever yours, Henry
Several days after Id read this note, I came across this miserable tripe on Facebook: Chivalry is harmful to both men and women, relays the woman in the video. because it reinforces this idea that women need to be helped or saved by a stronger man. And it takes away a womans agency.
The video is part of an "Unpopular Opinion" series on Facebook, a concept that in theory Id support. But theres nothing unpopular about a video that sells the same tired message feminists have sold for years and subsequently became the status quo: that men and women are equal and should therefore be treated the same.
Women can open their own doors, pull out their own chairs and take care of themselves, women have argued for years. Im strong enough to do all these things, notes the woman in the video, who identifies herself as Emily Panic, as she flexes her arm muscles to viewers.

Women back then, generally speaking, were ladies and deserved chivalrous men. Women today, generally speaking, are whores and deserve contempt. Who is going to waste chivalry on a whore? Not me.
Interesting that you broadened the concept out to include our cultural shift to an overall lack of basic good manners.
No question this absolutely is the handiwork of nefarious leftist forces bent on tearing us apart to gain the upper hand.
When we fled California in 2015 and relocated to a Red State (were in East Tennessee now), I couldnt help but be struck by the difference in manners. The most striking of all is among the kids. With the SoCal adolescents, every second word is the eff word. I hated sitting near them in restaurants. I have yet to hear the eff word in public in the two years weve been in Tennessee.
And parents here control their children in publichuge difference. Theyre not running loose all over stores and restaurants screaming like banshees.
So nice to live in a culture that places a value on manners.
Ron White: My wife’s cooking’s gotten a lot better since she learned the smoke alarm wasn’t a timer.
LOL!! I say the SAME thing....THANK YOU...Chivalry is Not Dead...and they always smile back at me!!! But when someone slams the door in my face I do say thanks...like I MEAN it!!!

That is the world that I grew up in, as well.
Thank you, sir, for keeping the torch burning.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHA!!!!!
:)
Your hatred of women always draws you to threads like this, doesn’t it?
I went to the Philippines 🇵🇭 😁😂🙃👍
Totally agree! The Long March Through the Institutions -- especially universities -- has been the method of spreading cultural mayhem and destruction of the historic order of things.
We have allowed ourselves to lower the standards for so many things the last 50 years with the advent of bad movies, comics, all manner of society degradation, and now romantic Chivalry is Passe. What would Sir Walter Raleigh think if he were here today????????????????
Sad. Most women are NOT feminists, yet we have lost that wonderful affection of men. We 2 pay the price.
Don’t hate em. Just dont worship or chase em like you blue pillers or white knights.
See post 7, and contribute your tagline...
Hopefully, those reading our posts will accept these facts and stop spouting crap, that is specious untruths.
We'll never combat this mess, unless everyone finally knows and accepts the facts!
I’ve been screamed at for holding a door.
My response both times was, “Oh, sorry, I mistook you for a lady...”
LOL that’s funny..........what steams me is I’m coming out of a door and I hold it open and there happens to be a man fixing to come in. Now most of the time they thank me but the few times they don’t I say YOU’RE WELCOME!! My hubby tells me I’m gonna open my mouth to the wrong person one day..........heehee
You are taking the Victorian idealization of it, instead, as the ideal; which it is.
The original "code of chivalry" included such things as: it's okay to rape a peasant female ( married, single, child, teen, whatever ) but NOT a high born "LADY".
The adoration/non-physical "romantic love" was for the queen, princess, woman of the court, which began during Eleanor of Aquitaine's run as Queen of France.
Why, thank you, and bless your heart!
