A friend of mine whose mother died recently was going through her parents memorabilia and unearthed a Western Union telegram from 1954 that her father sent her mother just before they married. Heres what it said:
Darling, I shall be waiting for you at eight. With a lifetime of expectancy. My heart will be coming with you down the aisle. May God be with us tonight as we pray we will always be with Him. Thank you for becoming my wife. My love forever yours, Henry
Several days after Id read this note, I came across this miserable tripe on Facebook: Chivalry is harmful to both men and women, relays the woman in the video. because it reinforces this idea that women need to be helped or saved by a stronger man. And it takes away a womans agency.
The video is part of an "Unpopular Opinion" series on Facebook, a concept that in theory Id support. But theres nothing unpopular about a video that sells the same tired message feminists have sold for years and subsequently became the status quo: that men and women are equal and should therefore be treated the same.
Women can open their own doors, pull out their own chairs and take care of themselves, women have argued for years. Im strong enough to do all these things, notes the woman in the video, who identifies herself as Emily Panic, as she flexes her arm muscles to viewers.

There can no longer even be a professional disagreement. Even in engineering, disagreeing with a woman is the same as rape.
Women want to be treated as equal EXCEPT when they are getting custody of the children, child support, and alimony.
Women want to be treated as equal EXCEPT when they are being treated better or when it comes time for the dirty or hard work.
Women want to be treated as equal except when on a date and its time to pay the check.
Women want to be treated as equal except when its time for war and there’s fighting and dying.
I could go on but I think I made my point!
As a man I’ll take it one female at a time. I wont lump them all in one category or throw the good ones in with the poisonous, toxic brew of leftism. The good ones though sadly are very few. The same can be said of the males.
Grammar nazi alert! I’m sure you mean “ungrateful females”.
And I agree wholeheartedly with your post, FRiend.
Olden Days: Darling, I’ll be with you, care for you, and love you forever.
Modern Times: Why buy the cow when the milk is free.
You mean she won’t be there to wipe your ass?
At the risk of being blasted by some here into an everlasting pit of fire.....
Dating women for companionship takes no effort at all anymore. Make a woman laugh, smile, pay attention to her etc and shell be at your beck and call even if you have a rotation of women going.
Things as simple as opening doors, paying for a meal, taking care of yourself (Being in shape.) and the average urban/suburban woman will open up her wares to you.
Its almost pitifully easy to set yourself apart from most men out there. You listen to dating tales from women these days and its a wonder theyre not all lesbians.
Its so prevalent that I dont even meet women who utter the M word in conversation anymore. They dont want to scare someone off.
We all make choices. Youve made yours.
Ive made mine.
The hard part is living with the consequences of those choices.
Best of luck to you.

“5Suzanne Venker: Chivalry is dead because women killed it”
In my many decades of life experience, I’ve found that women... andclack women in particular... appreciate and respond positively to chivalrous behavior. No ma’m and yes ma’m work wonders. It’s natural for me because that’s the way I was raised and the schools taught us.
Time for a little light hearted comedy:
Women can do anything except.mp4 -— 1 minute

Chivalry isn’t dead.
But it has taken a heck of a beating and we’re getting much pickier about who we are chivalrous to...
A punchline I would have liked better would have been “... And he slammed the door on her face.”
Every time a man holds the door for me or picks up something I dropped I always say, thank you young man....chilvary is not dead. They always smile.....and so do I.
They killed Chivalry AND their BABIES!!! I as a woman have very little respect for 99% of women!!!
They are easily led by nitwits and phonies like Oprah and their insipid, trend following girlfriends!
They take the word of other women before they would their husbands....if they still have one.
I so totally agree Ann......you said it girl
I dont do it for them. I do it for me.
As my mother taught me. You get an A+ on your report card.
I’m with you.
Women are strong and capable. Treating women with default respect and deference does not in any way mean we men look down on them.
I still open doors, give up a seat, etc. Nothing is stupider than a woman who gets all bent out of shape and takes your respect as some kind of slight or offense.
Of all the things feminist women have done to destroy the relationship between women and men, that is among the most irritating to me.
We do it because there is value in being a gentleman. As you said, Chivalry is a warrior code.
Excellent post.
Darling, I shall be waiting for you at eight. With a lifetime of expectancy. My heart will be coming with you down the aisle. May God be with us tonight as we pray we will always be with Him. Thank you for becoming my wife. My love forever yours, Henry
Todays’ women: “It is not enough!!”
Or as Ron White said: You remember the old DeBeers slogan, “Diamonds are forever.” Then they changed it to “This year, take her breath away.” The new slogan is “Diamonds. Render her speechless.” Why don’t they just come out and say it: “Diamonds. That’ll shut her up.”
He continues with “for a minute”
Exactly. You do it because it is the right thing to do, not because people are watching, you are trying to curry favor, or make an impression.
Women are strong and capable.
The ones who are worth a damn are.
We do it because there is value in being a gentleman.
Indeed there is. Even if its only being able to look at yourself when you shave.
Best of luck to you.
