Officials at the Florida school where 17 students were gunned down during a mass shooting on Valentine's Day are investigating allegations a teacher compared pro-Second Amendment student Kyle Kashuv to "Hitler" and called him "dangerous."
The comments were allegedly made by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School American history teacher Gregory Pittman, an outspoken gun control advocate. Pittman's reported remarks came after photos posted to social media showed Kashuv visiting a gun range with his father.
“School leaders take all matters involving students and staff seriously,” Broward County Public Schools spokeswoman Nadine Drew told Fox News. “They are aware of the allegations and are looking into the matter.”
Kashuv, a junior, posted a photo and video from his first time shooting a gun with his father, a veteran of the Israel Defense Forces, on Twitter last Friday. He told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that photo led to an interrogation from a school official and a report from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, which found the tweets to be “non-threatening.”
Pittman and Kashuv went back and forth on Twitter, where the teacher said it was “bad” for Kashuv to hold a gun and said Kashuv was just doing it to get “attention.” During a class discussion days later, Pittman allegedly began disparaging Kashuv, who was not present.
A junior who witnessed the rant told Fox News that Pittman “was a bit angry” and launched into a tirade Wednesday during the last 10 minutes of class after one student brought up the Twitter exchange.
“It was basically a hate fest,” the student said. “They were just saying means things about Kyle. He talked about how he was right, and how Kyle was making an ass of himself.

How long before the school issues a statement that the teacher was only exercising his 1st amendment right of free speech?
Like California State University, Fresno just did with Randa Jarrar, the over-bloated professor who called Barbara Bush “an amazing racist” and said “I’m happy the witch is dead.”
Even so called ‘educators’ don’t understand the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights.
They think that their every utterance is protected speech.
But there is nothing at all in the wording of the First Amendment to the US Constitution that prevents an employer from taking corrective action
against racists and bigots like these ‘educators’ who make unacceptable vicious, harmful allegations and idiotic statements.
FIRST AMENDMENT:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech,
or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
I thought “bullying” was against the rules, perhaps not in that school. The teacher should have been fired. It would appear that schools can make their own laws and go around our true system. Happens more than you think.
As a liberal, this teacher is protected by the 1st Amendment. As a conservative, he would be fired for student abuse and hateful verbal conduct.
Why does the left continue to try and make this about guns and gun violence?
It’s not. It is about disarming normal patriotic American citizens. I can only think of two reasons, really. 1) Subvert the nation by driving the people off their own streets, or, 2) Strip the possible resistance to a takeover.

Actually the Weimar Republic passed the gun confiscation law in 1919 due to provisions in the Treaty of Versailles and again in 1920 fearing armed rebellion.
The possession of any type of gun or ammunition would cost the guilty party up to 5 years in prison and a 100,000 Mark fine.
In 1928 the gun laws were relaxed some.
In 1938 the NAZI government relaxed them again.
Gun restriction laws applied only to handguns, not to long guns or ammunition.
The 1938 revisions completely deregulated the acquisition and transfer of rifles and shotguns, and the possession of ammunition.
The legal age at which guns could be purchased was lowered from 20 to 18.
Permits were valid for three years, rather than one year.
Holders of annual hunting permits, government workers, and NSDAP (the National Socialist German Workers’ Party) members were no longer subject to gun ownership restrictions. Prior to the 1938 law, only officials of the central government, the states, and employees of the German Reichsbahn Railways were exempted.
Manufacture of arms and ammunition continued to require a permit, with the proviso that such permits would no longer be issued to any company even partly owned by Jews; Jews could not manufacture or deal in firearms or ammunition.
The 1938 Regulations Against Jews’ Possession of Weapons, which came into force the day after Kristallnacht, effectively deprived all Jews living under the Third Reich within the occupied Sudetenland and Austria of the right to possess any form of weapons, including truncheons, knives, firearms and ammunition. Exceptions were made for Jews and Poles who were foreign nationals under §3 of the act.
Before that, some police forces used the pre-existing “trustworthiness” clause to disarm Jews on the basis that “the Jewish population ‘cannot be regarded as trustworthy’”.
