Kim Jong Un agrees to end war, agrees to denuclearization of Korean Peninsula

The leaders of North and South Korea signed a historic declaration Friday pledging "no more war" and a common goal of "complete denuclearization" on the Korean Peninsula.

The countries, which technically remain in a state of war, heralded the deal as part of "a new era of peace" after a historic summit.

North Korea's Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in also vowed to "cease all hostile acts" and to "transform the Demilitarized Zone into a peace zone." The two leaders embraced, and Moon said he would visit Pyongyang in the fall.

The people of SK can figure out ways to end the war with NK and thus greatly diminish the conventional threat. But the threat (to us) from missiles and nukes could be increased again if there is NK prosperity under a Kim regime with no inspections. But inspections will depend on pressure and pressure will depend on China.

It's really not much different from Taiwan (in geopolitical terms). Taiwanese strive to be free and don't want to be attacked by mainland China. But the Taiwanese recognize that peace comes from strength. So they maintain a strong military posture but at the same time don't do anything stupid (e.g. develop nukes). Our role is quite obvious, keep Taiwan strong, but don't piss off China.

Same with China's role in NK, keep Kim propped up, keep communism strong, keep the people from getting too much of a taste of freedom. But as Trump has pointed out, don't be stupid. Don't allow NK to threaten us and the world. It's really simple, but you have to stop "sympathizing". That just leads to irrational decisions.

Yep, not long ago when North Korea was launching missile over the Sea of Japan the leftist were heehawing that, "Trump will get us all nuked, Trump is putting us in grave danger, etc".

Quite alright amigo. I follow your logic and agree with the premise. But sorry these people under Kim will NOT hold to any deal. Kim is trying to best PDJT at the "art of the deal".

Will be like the Iranian deal minus the 250 billion Obutthole gave them.
