Faith in America, a pro-LGBT organization which will be protesting at the annual gathering of the Southern Baptist Convention in Phoenix, Arizona, next week, recently announced that they will be lobbying for the nation's largest Protestant body to remove homosexuality and transgenderism from their "sin list."
"Ultimately, we at FIA believe LGBT people should be removed from the sin list. We know interpretations and new revelations come to light. We believe the Church will one day stop diminishing the lives of those who are LGBT and we strive to help this come to pass," the organization said in a release.
"We are optimistic people and see the glass 75% full! We appreciate and respect how the SBC has changed teachings and interpretations based on new, important information. We applaud how in 1995 the SBC issued a formal apology to People of Color for their role in the inhuman practices of slavery and segregation."

Or else what?........................
I am a Cumberland Presbyterian. Would a good Baptist please tell me that they don’t actually maintain a “sin list”?
At least from my perspective and experience, that is not how Christianity works. My first impression is that this request is from people who don’t have a clue what Christianity is all about. But I really cannot speak with any authority about any other Christian denomination.
Today the Pope - tomorrow THE WORLD!
Never heard of that before. Hmmm, everything to ass munchers sounds sick.
In other words, Did God really say...? There is truly nothing new under the sun. This is the same old lie Satan used to deceive the first two humans, and unfortunately it still works on many today. These self-deluded individuals will use the same lie to eliminate any concept of sin at all, if given the chance.
The Southern Baptists should tell them to stick it, and move on. Far too many churches today are compromising with the deviant culture in a misguided attempt to be seeker friendly. Thats a recipe for disaster. They should instead put fidelity to the Gospel #1 on their priority list, and if some seeker doesnt like it then point them toward the door. Gods truth is unchanging and is not subject to the whims of pop culture.
So my Catholic view, as I was taught, can be found at http://www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/sacraments-and-sacramentals/penance/examinations-of-conscience.cfm
Notice the centrality of the 10 Commandments. That is the basic “sin list” that God gave us, no?
Don’t you love how atheists always tell Christians how to read and follow the Bible?
Socialism’s fast track to Communism.
Examples include Venezuela, Nazi Germany.
First, they come for your church.
Then they try to destroy the family structure.
Next come the guns.
Do not ever give in!
They are basically demanding that The Southern Baptist Church
deny God.
Can we get political assassination removed too?
They’re too late—the Bible was already written. Don’t let them adbridge the “sin” stuff.
Joke: Moses came down from Mt.Sinai and gathered the people around him. “Look,” he said. “I did what I could and I got Him down to only ten commandments—but adultery stays in!”
AMEN! My first thought as well.
They want to poison every well.
My neighbor has a hot wife and I’ve had my eye on her for a while, and one of these days I might do something about it. He has a pretty nice car too. If I decide I want them and he stands in my way, I just might get rid of him.
But first — I’d better make sure that Baptists and other Christians bump adultery, theft, and murder off the “sin list”. Then I can do what I please. I might go to jail, but at least I’ll be square with God.
Incrementalism. The left are masters of it. Next they’ll want Baptists to embrace perversion, then promote it, then require it.
Pretty sure that list was not written by the hand of man. They’ll have to take that up with the author.
On the Southern Baptist Convention/ Basic Beliefs page is
The Christian & the Social Order
All Christians are under obligation to seek to make the will of Christ supreme in our own lives and in human society... in the spirit of Christ, Christians should oppose racism, every form of greed, selfishness, and vice, and all forms of sexual immorality, including adultery, homosexuality, and pornography.
I would imagine a diseased mind could construe this as a “sin list”.
There is no list, moreover the SBC does not have authority over the autonomous member churches.
You know, Jesus boiled it down to two:
1- Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul and all your mind
2- Love your neighbor as yourself.
Christianity is not so much a list of do’s/don’ts or can/ can’ts as it is faith and belief in action as a way of life to follow after our Lord and Savior and His example and commands. A Christian life is positive action and communion with God, not a meticulous avoidance of certain actions. A “sin list”, in my opinion, would be an example of not seeing the forest for the trees.
