Claim: 71 percent of FBI’s foreign counterintelligence budget diverted to Russia probe
Washington Times ^ | April 24, 2018 | Larry O'Connor

One of the consequences of the Obama Administration’s unprecedented decision to launch a counterintelligence investigation on the Trump political campaign in 2016 is the drain on Department of Justice resources to chase down the “Russia connection” at the expense of other national security concerns.

Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, a retired military intelligence officer and a Senior Fellow at the London Center for Policy Research says that over seventy percent of the FBI’s current budget dedicated to foreign counterintelligence investigations have been diverted to support the probe’s activities. Shaffer made the revelation on my radio program Monday afternoon on WMAL in Washington DC:

If there’s some big Jihadi attack and they miss it because they spent the whole budget on this fantasy, Trump will be able to destroy them.

I think the Hillary campaign and DNC should have to pay for this.

The FBI originated from a force of Special Agents created in 1908 by Attorney General Charles Bonaparte during the Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt. The two men first met when they both spoke at a meeting of the Baltimore Civil Service Reform Association. Roosevelt, then Civil Service Commissioner, boasted of his reforms in federal law enforcement. It was 1892, a time when law enforcement was often political rather than professional. Roosevelt spoke with pride of his insistence that Border Patrol applicants pass marksmanship tests, with the most accurate getting the jobs. Following Roosevelt on the program, Bonaparte countered, tongue in cheek, that target shooting was not the way to get the best men. “Roosevelt should have had the men shoot at each other, and given the jobs to the survivors.”

Bonaparte may have been right.

Since there was NOTHING there TO investigate, wouldn’t they have to go to some trouble to make it LOOK legit? An exhaustive audit would surely turn up extensive money laundering effort, phony payments to one another under fictitious names, etc., eh?

I’ve been waiting for an accounting of how much taxpayer money has been wasted on this fraud scheme.

This begs another question. How can one “budget” what the needs of the national security division will be. Just suppose there was an abnormal number of intelligence operations run at the US? IMO, when investigative functions begin to budget exactly what they will spend, in money and personnel, on any activity, the organization has become too bureaucratic. I say this from experience. I used to have to estimate where my Regional investigative resources would be spent during the coming year. One thing I did not have was a crystal ball. Worse, at the end of the year I was rated upon how close I came to my beginning of the year estimate. DC was amazed how closely I came to my estimate. See, having been a computer programmer very early in my career, I knew the acronym GIGO. So, I would just load into my hours expenditure reports with what areas needed a push. Seems some yahoo with no field experience. I guess I was just a bit slier. When I weighed the importance of this estimate to real world activities, I realized I had become an anachronism since I was more concerned with outcomes than
BS paperwork so I decided to pull the pin.

I want to believe this was all cooked up by the elites at the top of the bureaucracy and the rank and file agents were never part of it, would never be part of it. But things like this, if true, really make me feel naive. Knowing what they know, if agents are told to spend all their time chasing this transparently political witch hunt and aren’t resigning en masse then they are in on it.

They are not spending 70% of the FBI budget on Russia, Russia, Russia. Clearly fake news. It is much less than that. They have run out of stuff to look at.

Diverting resources in FBI to fake russian investigation, and appointing special councils = $$$$ for deep state swamp rats.

As long as this goes on, the more these shit eating bottom feeders from the administrative deep state rake in the cash.

The FBI and DOJ are too thoroughly corrupted to salvage.

FIRE ALL OF THEM! From the AG down to the janitors, and barr them from ever holding any government job for as long as they live.

It doesn’t say 70% of the FBI budget. It say 71% of the FBI’s “foreign counter-intelligence budget.”

How would Shaffer get this information? He’s not FBI and never worked there. An anonymous friend of a friend who knows somebody who works in the FBI budget office?

Doesn’t pass the smell test.

This would not bother me if it was for a month or two, but it has been over a year and we have nothing, absolutely zero, to show for it. Isn’t it time that this joke of a democratic issue is laid to rest? Damn, let’s get serious and stop the nonsense. The Republicans should uniformly call, over and over, for Mueller to produce something or quit.

The job of the FBi is to protect White Liberal Elites and members of their pet victim groups.

It’s time to replace the FBI with a real police organization... not a bunch of political hacks with guns.
