Dear leaders,
You failed us.
It's your responsibility to protect the youth.
But when faced with the choice of fossil fuel money for your campaigns, or the wellbeing of your children, you pick fossil fuels.
Today is Earth Day. Please save your phony Earth Day tweets and Facebook posts, I don't want to see them. Put those in a bag along with your toothless "thoughts and prayers" tweets for hurricane victims and dump them in the ocean just like you permit corporations to dump their waste.
Because my generation is so done with your talk.
I'm a 16-year-old sophomore in high school. I have my whole life ahead of me, and there's so much I want to do.
I want to travel the world and see all its natural wonders. I want to run for office so I can be the leader I always wished I had.
But I have to come to terms with the fact that all of the above very well may not happen: because I'm growing up in the early 21st century, a time when the world and all its life systems are falling apart. Climate change has loomed over my every life decision, every time I try to plan for the future.
Prepare to see us in your offices more and more often. Prepare to be voted out.
Leaders, I want you to know that the youth are watching.
See you this July.
Sincerely,
A teenage girl who has had enough and is not alone

I always look to ignorant teenagers when it comes to highly technical issues of energy production and climatology.
Dear Little Snowflake:
Give up all items you own and use that are in any way dependent on fossil fuels, and go live in a shack in the woods.
Have a nice time.
Sincerely,
Life
She shouldn’t have said “Dear leaders.” Kim Jong Il is no longer living, and Barack Obama is no longer president.
Oldeconomybuyer this is the third such screed you have published in the last few minutes. If the point you wish to be made is that the Left is publishing many such articles I think you have made it.
Another Idiot that thinks Global Warming and Harry Potter are Real ,LOL
Just wait until you get saddled with the bill for their Social Security and Medicare.
You're gonna feel like a poleaxed heifer when that one hits, honey.
Congress put her way over a hundred grand in debt, so traveling the world will not be her problem. She better hope for glowbull warming, cause she will not be able to run a heater in the winter.
Dear Jamie Margolin’s parents. You failed us! You allowed your daughter to be preached to by the religious left of the public church system (schools) and now she is a hopeless godless liberal.
And how do you think you're going to do that without using fossil fuels?
” I’m growing up in the early 21st century, a time when the world and all its life systems are falling apart. Climate change has loomed over my every life decision, every time I try to plan for the future.”
If you believe that, your parents have failed you, because they have allowed you to be indoctrinated and not educated.
Even if the WORST CASE estimates on CO2 turn out to be correct, the earth and its systems will NOT BE FALLING APART in the next century. The earth has been sustaining life for BILLIONS of years, your belief that a bit more CO2 in the atmosphere will kill the planet is beyond idiotic.
I am sorry your teachers and parents have completely failed to teach you fundamental commons sense and pragmatic science and math.
Grow up kid.
This is an example of the emotional marshmallows being raised today.
Young and stupid. Gullible and easy led around by the nose ring.
16-year-old sophomore sounds like many 60-year-old sophomores.

Dec 2016: Jamie Margolin: How The 2016 Election Made Me Stop Believing In My Dreams
I see myself in Hillary Clinton.
Im a 15-year-old girl and my dream is to become the president of the United States.
I may only be in my freshman year of high school, but already, Im positive the presidency is for me...
But then I remember the 2016 election. I remember how Hillary Clinton had more than her share of knowledge and qualifications and still lost. I remember how Donald Trump had never held elected office in his life and still won. How he didnt even bother explain how he would achieve all he promised, and how Hillary had laid out her plans for the country in detail.
Hillary Clinton knew every nook and cranny of what the presidency entailed. She had tangible plans. She was prepared. All we had to do was elect her and shed roll up her sleeves and get right to work. But Trump was elected instead, and he looked like a deer in headlights when Obama showed him around the White House. According to the press, he seemed surprised by the gravity of the job and Obama decided he was going to spend more time with Trump then he usually would with his successor because apparently, Trump didnt bother to read through the requirements of the job hed been running for for 18 months...

7 March 2017 Updated 17 March 2017: HuffPo: Jamie Margolin: How Being an Intern With The Clinton Campaign Changed My Life Forever
Ever since I can remember, Ive always been hyperly-political.
(I mean, I grew up watching The Colbert Report while my classmates were watching Disney shows, if that doesnt say it all.)
But it wasnt until I was 14 years old, this past summer, when I finally became politically active.
Ill never forget the first day I walked into my local democratic campaign office. It was the July before the election, and after watching the inspiring Democratic Convention on TV, I was fired up to volunteer for Hillary Clintons campaign. The campaign office was packed, and I was quickly ushered by staff members into a crowded room where (squished between what seemed like a million other volunteers) I made my very first political phone call...
Soon, I signed on as an intern for one of the field organizers, and I progressively began spending more and more time at my states Democratic headquarters. The office became my home away from home. When I had a day off from school, I went to the campaign office, and worked a full 7 hours. On weekends? I turned down my friends invitations to hang out and worked at the office. After school? I was at the campaign office...
Hillary Clinton herself made a surprise appearance at the office...
I was able to volunteer at a Chelsea Clinton Town Hall and was even the first at the event to ask a question...
PHOTO: I caught up to Chelsea after the event for a selfie.
I was passionate about Hillarys campaign, and so excited for what seemed like certain victory and then
well, you all know what went down on November 8th.
On election night, my world shattered, as I know it did for so many others...
Today, Im channeling all that passion I had for Hillary Clintons campaign into environmental activism, and fighting for my future...

Here in the Midwest USA, we are positive that if this global warming continues we are all going to freeze to death!
Words fail me.
‘A teenage girl who has had enough and is not alone’
well she’s right about that; there’s no shortage of overwrought females in the world...
What an idiot.
‘If the point you wish to be made is that the Left is publishing many such articles I think you have made it.’
you could just not read his post; but you already know that...
