Thanks for posting this. I hadn’t even known he had had new surgery. Prayers for his quick recovery, and that he won’t have to undergo any more surgeries.

I share your hope but Hollywood and novelists don’t paint a very accurate picture of the consequences of being shot in the torso where a hero straps on a pressure pack and takes out another dozen bad guys before admitting it stings a bit. This likely will affect the rest of his life. I only hope it is manageable and doesn’t shorten his life.

I worked with a guy once who had been shot with buckshot while out hunting. The other hunter claimed he thought he was a deer. Yeah, deer wear orange vests. He was hit in the head, face, neck and upper torso. My co-worker was lucky he hadn’t lost an eye because of it. He had to periodically go back and have the balls removed as they would move around, come to the surface, and cause him problems.

Exactly - torso/abdominal wounds plus the life-saving surgeries typically result in adhesions that become painful and sometimes affect intestinal function. I suspect this is what the most recent surgery was to repair. Rep. Scalise deserves all of our prayers while the national media deserve nothing but scorn for their total blindness to this story and its implications.
He should not be speaker for that very reason.
It’s amazing that Representative Scalise survived this attack by a hate-filled Democrat.
Nobody remembers the name of the CPUSA psychopath who unleashed this attack, the non Christian controlled media want to suppress this by all means necessary.
No investigation, no arrests of co-conspirators.

From where I understand he was shot, it probably tore up his bladder and/or colon. Of course, no one is going to report that, but if it did require a colostomy, sometimes they can be reversed, after several months, when everything heals up. If the bladder was too damaged, he may have had to have an ileal conduit. But I’m showing my age, here. Nowadays, they probably use a 3D printer, and create a framework and grow new bladder tissue. Especially if he’s been treated at a place like Walter Reed. I haven’t taken care of an ileal conduit patient in many years. Whatever the case, I pray God will give him rapid, complete, in the Name of Jesus.
