A RUSSIAN warship was tracked by the Royal Navy as it passed close to the UK coastline today.

Putin is going to rattle his saber. We can expect a certain amount of that. Terming this a grave situation and over-playing it only encourages him.

The rhetoric needs to be backed down. As for Trump and his tweets, he tweets for effect, so I don’t include him in that.

The MSM shouldn’t act as though WWIII was inevitable and just around the corner.

Tensions will come up, and die back down. Who knew?

Gotta carefully follow it through the Channel, lest it suddenly race for the beach, start landing troops and gain a beach head.

And also, if it breaks into the Atlantic, it might start raiding the merchant ships. /s

It’s especially silly when they follow every Russian ship closely, a few hundred yards away at all times, but let hundreds of ISIS unibrow throwbacks get off the plane at Gatwick and give them an apartment and some spending money.

Really. This was not exactly the Prince Eugene and Scharnhorst making their daylight dash up the Channel in February of 1942!

Not familiar with the situation you addressed, but I agree in principle. This isn’t a war-time gauntlet.

While I hate to be a history Nazi you’re thinking of the Gneisenau. The Prinz Eugen escorted the Bismarck for awhile.

Gneisenau, Prinz Eugen, and Scharnhorst all three made the dash together according to wiki.

Just a tad ironic, I agree.

The Prince Eugene detached from the Bismark and made to Brest. The Bismark met its fate separately. The Prince Eugen stayed in Brest suffering RAF air bombardment with the Scharnhorst and the Gneisenau. All three of them plus some smaller ships and torpedo boats) made the “Channel Dash.” I just didn’t mention the Gneisenau because I can never spell it correctly from memory.

I’d bet my rear end that the US submarine force and Ivan are very busy playing blind mans bluff 24/7. We alway did and always will. It’s how the game is played. Every time we send a carrier group in harms way they have cover. In all levels. When you raise tensions you raise readiness, and Ivan and the Chinese are no different. Bear in mind the average age of who watches over us while we sleep is probably around 24 or 25.
