The legislation banning private gun sales also bans the sale of high capacity magazines and bump stocks. And it raises the age for long gun purchases to 21 throughout the state.
The Washington Free Beacon reports that the high capacity magazine ban limits rifle magazines to 10 rounds and handgun magazines to 15 rounds.
Scott pointed to a foiled attack on Vermonts Fair Haven Union High School as justification for placing new gun controls on law-abiding Vermont residents. He did not mention that the alleged 18-year-old, would-be Fair Haven attacker purchased his shotgun at retail, not privately. Moreover, his allegedly plan did not includes bump stocks or high capacity magazines.
Scotts support for gun control comes after he rejected calls for gun control during his gubernatorial campaign.

Also, you are no better than the gun-grabbers saying no one needs an AR-15. If someone thinks a 30-round magazine meets their needs, that is their choice, not yours nor should it be the choice of government. Because the next step will be to ban all semi-autos with detachable magazines - and laws doing just that have been proposed. Enjoy your wheelgun.
Once again, it isn’t your damn call what someone decides for their own personal defense.
We do have a few Fudds here, it seems.
Because the next step will be to ban all semi-autos with detachable magazines - and laws doing just that have been proposed. Enjoy your wheelgun.
And the step after that is to ban all handguns. So much for his revolver.
My handgun holds only 10 bullets in the removable clip, and I feel perfectly safe with it. Because I go to the gun range and practice frequently. If I need additional firepower, I have spare magazines. But I will not need those to stop an invader or 2.
I am laughing out loud thinking some people need a 50 bullet capacity magazine to defend themselves.
All these bans are unconstitutional but the high capacity mag ban is silly. These assholes do not realize that anyone can perform a mag change in under 2 seconds. Thats why I carry a 1911.
Yeah and one person won powerball lottery! If 5 bandits need to invade your home, you are either dealing drugs or area mega millionaire. In both cases you should hire professional bodyguards.
Wait until they line up and shoot through the first.
I do practice and shoot as well as you, would only need 1-2 rounds per assailant. How many assailants is always an open question.
Illegal alien MS-13 travel in packs, 6-8 is typical.
Exactly. So long as there is no limit on buying magazines, why is there a knee jerk reaction against capacity ban.
Besides it is VERMONT. If you don’t like gun laws in Vermont, there are at least 30+ states with much less stringent gun laws.
Frankly, I think you are ignorant of home invasions. Yes, they go after drug dealers but often get the wrong house. Sometimes they just don’t care what house they go to. We’ll just agree to disagree and I’ll be glad you are not in charge of changing the US Constitution.
So because you don't want a maagazine that holds more than 10 rounds, you're fine with the government banning them? That's the logic of those in favor of control, period.
By the way, you didn't answer my question. An oversight, I'm sure. I'll repeat it for your convenience:
Pray tell, why do you need a 10 shot magazine, then? Would you be in favor a 6 round limit?
4 round limit?
Single shot only?
I’d like to own a 1911, have been considering a handgun purchase. Leaning toward a .357/.38Spec revolver instead.
Had looked at the CZ 9mm, sweet weapon for the money. Shoots great from all reports. Think the .357 has a lot better range, impact and easier to reload the ammo.
MS-13 type gangs have no record of invading indigenous American citizens in large numbers. They mostly prey on immigrants from their country of origin. Also, the Trump Admin is doing a much better job of dealing with MS-13 gangs.
That would be the correct method. If you don’t like the law or the politician, organize to vote against them.
If you are 78 you have no business being okay with limiting the freedoms you got to enjoy that others, much younger than you with many years ahead of them, may not.
Wondering how on earth you can be for the chipping away of gun rights? I thought wisdom came with old age.
I’m still not giving up my 14 round magazines.
None of your business what I weapons have and use.
I wonder why it took so long for the conservative press to report it?
