Lindsey Graham calls Syria strikes a 'missed opportunity,' 'major step backwards'

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., criticized the military strikes President Trump ordered against Syria in response to a suspected chemical weapons attack against civilians, calling them an “underwhelming response” and “major step backwards.”

Graham said the air and missile strikes that targeted three chemical weapons facilities in Syria were a “missed opportunity” and were not a sufficient enough response to Syrian President Bashar Assad, during an interview Monday with “The Hugh Hewitt Show.”

“Didn’t lay a glove on Assad’s capabilities to wage war. We’re becoming the chemical weapons police. We don’t have a strategy about why Syria matters,” Graham said. “It seems like we’re willing to give to the Russians and the Iranians without much of a contest. The ISIS people heard we’re leaving. The Kurds are in a world of hurt because they’re very much exposed. And the military strike itself was a tactical response well short of what I thought was justified. So he’s been a good commander in chief in general, but this is a major step backwards.”

Trump announced Friday night the U.S. launched precision strikes against Syria following the suspected poison gas attack in the rebel-held city of Douma on April 7. The U.S. was joined by British and French ships and aircraft.

At least 40 people were killed in the alleged attack by the Syrian government.

The day I grant Graham a voice in international dynamics is the day I hang up my voting cap.

I hate all these war mongering neo-con bastards. They don’t care how many of our sons they kill or maim.

This dope is apparently replacing John McCain as the ranking member of the Sunni Muslim party in the U.S. government.

These people are really silly. We didn’t go into Syria when we had our entire armed forces stationed next door in Iraq. But he wants us to launch some kind of major offensive against Syria now?

Seems to me it made complete sense to target the chemical weapons facilities because the reason was that chemical weapons had been used. But maybe that’s just me.

Linda’s employers want Assad removed so they can build a pipeline through Syria.

Once one realizes that Trump did Syria and Russia a favor by taking out the deep state targets that are operating in their sphere of influence, then everything makes more sense.

Linda and other deep state actors can not say,”Hey why are you taking out our people(deep state)?”

Thus, they are gnashing their teeth and whining.

Trump’s move are rather brilliant if you ask me.

Okay, McCain butt-buddy, just how many of our youth do you want to spend on that cluster-f*ck? Spell out how many troops do we need to deal with Assad, rebels, jihadists, Russia, Iran, Turkey, et al? How many Americans should die in that pissant country? Or maybe, you just want constant bombing until we finally blowup some Russians and expand the conflict?

I say we pull out and let Russia have Syria. So what? It's a lost cause. I'm sick of seeing the flag-draped coffins and the maimed come back from these ME shit holes. Let them kill each other by any means. I don't care.

Russia can have its warm water port, which they already do. Think Tridents in the Med! While Russia is expansionist, they will never attack us unless provoked to the point of no return. It's just a matter of adhering to US nuclear policy established before Obama.
