it was also the centre of the Ancient Church of the East, which in 1300 was 1/3rd of Christendom (in terms of numbers)
“His Timurid Empire rivaled the size and power of the Mongolian domain forged by Genghis Khan a century earlier.”
Genghis would have been proud of Tamerlane’s many victories. However, Tamerlane’s empire is small in comparison to the Mongol empire built by Genghis Khan. The Great Khan was not Muslim either. In fact, he was the greatest killer of Muslims in world history.
I strongly recommend Genghis Khan: the man who conquered the world -- a very well researched book
Reading that made me realize just how scared people would have been to receive Genghis' ultimatums -- the way they sacked Samarkhand is incredible...incredibly brutal - he made Attila and Himmler look like Amateurs...
I’m a little unclear on the concept that Baghdad had a largely Christian population in 1399.
On the other hand, I read one account of his life that said he killed 750.000 in the Baghdad campaign and had a huge pyramid of skulls built to commemorate the victory.
unless you merge Ba’al with Al-illah >>>>>>
They are one and the same.
That changed after Timur's genocide
My opinion is that Al-illah is actually Elgabal - the black rock of Emesa that the Semitic emperor Elgabalus wanted to make Roman religion.
YEs, well Allah is a composite god with many faces. But if one analyses the common features to thie gods that make up Allah, there is a common thread of absolute submission ( slavery) and
human blood sacrifice, nothing benevolent about “it.”
Your indication about the black rock of Emesa is but one facet of a many faced god. Three of these major faces are Nannar, Baal and Sin whose symbol was the crescent moon still noticeable on many minarets and on many of Islams flags. There are many others, but there is nothing basically good, or compassionate about Allah. Those who submit become literal or figurative drinkers of human blood, no matter how humble, peaceful or merciful they might deign to appear.Reading the collective history of the Mesopotamian gods gives one an overview of who Allah actually is, a demon with a thousand faces.
Sitchin does a credible job at describing the composite god Allah, although I do not subscribe to his Niburu theories, he does an excellent job at revealing the many faces of Allah “the Merciful,”whose lineage is so bloody that it has no problem incorporating Islamofascism into it’s Umma.
Allah has nothing in common with Jehova, the god of Israel and the Jewish people. His evolution is much more benevolent to human beings and also to women (Shakina tradition).
